A) We all have wants and needs. We seek for the answers ourselves. You need to decide why you want to be a Ranger before we can complement those beliefs with information about the profession.
B) Your forum name would suggest you want to be a Ranger more than a Creature Handler.
C) Know - to understand. No - opposite of "yes."
D) Long Live the Rebellion ![]()

This post comes around every once in a while...
Seriously, Ranger is what you make of it. I tend to sort of roleplay my Ranger a bit and keep him as a loner. I stay out in the wild and try to spend as little time in cities. I like setting down a HTFB (High Tech Field Base) - my mini city of a camp and just relax. I like throwing traps (even the p-something). And I love tracking. I'll track anything... I'll even practice by not using /findfriend -- I can always surprise my guildmates when they're out in the wild. Hero of Tat quests actually are kinda fun every once in a while.
I used to have Creature Handler, and I had great fun, but for different reasons. You can become attached to your pets, especially the rare ones. In fact, before the CU I had a bit of CH and a good Razor Cat who always helped me hunt. I miss Mulder a lot... the probot I use to assist me now doesn't seem to have any personality.
Personally, I felt that Creature Handler had to go, but I kept my Master Ranger status... so you know which one I felt was ultimately more satisfying. Both professions are really about the lifestyle and not the actual profession itself. So you have to ask what you more... a companion, or camps & tracking skills.
This is all from my experience... and it's just my two cents.
