Hi guys, I just finished Scout and desided to go into Ranger because I have enjoyed my time with the Scout proffession. I was wondering two things, one, where are there some Ranger trainers (I'm currently on Tatooine), and also was wondering opinions on a good companion proffession for Ranger, I've been looking at mostly Rifleman and Bounty Hunter, with a 0003 in pistoleer. Any advise from experience? Thanks.

Check the stickies for a list of trainers.

As for good accompanying professions. Check the stickies and read thru the first couple of pages of the forum, should see a few suggestions there.

End of the day tho, go with the ones you enjoy playing. A rifleman /BH combo is pretty good. Gives you range, damage and some useful specials. It's what I went for. OTOH, others have gone for MBH with bit sof other stuff tacked on, it suits their playstyle. There are MCH rangers and, I've a REALLY vague memory of reading that somebody had a doctor/ranger?

You're, hopefully, going to spend a long time living with your ranger toon, no point getting stuck with a combat mix that you don't enjoy just because some random folk said it was 'the best'.

Thanks, you guys seem to have a pretty cool community here, and I look forward to being more involved on the boards here.

I like my M rifles/MBH/SL 0300 template. The SL gives some nice defensive bonuses. For a long time i played Swords/Ranger, which was a lot of fun too.

As for best it's gotta be Ranger/(fill-in-the-blank)

speaking of the frelling arsenal-- it just got expanded. The new heavy version of the LLC apparently is a bit better than the Laser Rifle. Talking to a WS last night, she made one that was like 471-963 base with a speed of 2.6 or so. put a P'up on that puppy and you're max damage would be very nice. Slice for speed and....well, you know the rest.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I am Master Rifleman/Master Ranger, and I enjoy it. The rifle specials are quite powerfull. The only problem is I die quite fast (I really hope Ranger gets defenses in rewamp).

Woah, nothing good to see here people, meh don't have an ubar, colorfull pwn sig. Just move along.

At first, Phe'nix was told 471-1963/2.6. My jaw nearly dropped when he told me those numbers.

As for choosing professions, just pick up something you think you will enjoy. If you don't enjoy it, pick a different profession. They all have advantages and disadvantages. It mostly depends upon your playstyle.
