SLs can do it. They have had this ability since launch. One of the few skills they have that works. Too bad its passive.

Well, the most important thing regarding SL is that all their skills are group-basedand anything in that area is supposed to be their sole territory.
Group TN bonus is one of the things that makesSL veryvaluable. Let's not try to take it from them. Ranger can travel fast him/herself but to make others do it you need different skills. It's what differentiates sergeant from private. Consider the group TN as not just ability of everyone in group to move fast butrather of having proper terrain maps and being able to plan routes, distributing equipment weight between members of group, rotating thelead who's slashing through thick jungle, etc.
Ranger skills are mostly soloist skills (high level camps and camo are not such though).

I personally think of group TN as the abliity to get your troops to march on no matter what concentrating specifically on motivation techniques such as
:
/shout "Private,GET those legs moving!"
/shout "YouWILL run up this hill or youWILL die! Choose!"
/shout "You eyeballing me boy? GETCHYAW carcas up that hill!"
That sort of thing.

I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this, but I don't know who else to ask.
I have some Group Terrain Negotiation tapes. I believe GTN is an SL skill, will those tapes on work for Squad Leader, or can I get up to +50 TN by using the Group tapes combined with regular TN tapes?
Thank you.

GTN kicks in when you lead a group. MSL gives +60. Anything over 50 is for crawling faster. This means tapes are useless unless you do not go up the first teir all the way and want to hit 50 with tapes.
