Thread: So long for now, guys... see you soon!

I know I've never been a very active poster here, but this is one of the few forums that I read regularly. This is, by far, the best community in SWG.

I've been on the Ranger path since Launch, and after mastering in '03, I've never once considered dropping Master. But the call of the Force is tugging on me and tonight, I did what I never thought I would do -- I dropped Master Ranger so I could train all 24 FS boxes. Not to worry, though -- I have a sneaking suspicion that a new Wookiee will be joining the ranks of Rangerdom soon, so keep your eyes out on Starsider for a Level 1 newb throwing traps like a madman by this weekend

Congrats brother, glad to see a Jedi earning his place rather than a jedi grinding his toon.

Hey there follow Starsidian. I recently unlocked myself. Send a tell to KaiRaene or Tagen ingame some time. We can do some leveling

Sounds great, KaiRaene! Although, I have to warn you, I'm probably going to be the slowest leveling Jedi in the history of the Galaxy

Never have been a grinder. In fact, it took me totally by surprise when I looked in my Control-S sheet recently and saw how close I was to unlocking! And my first priority is returning to the Ranger fold

Absolutely, Temujin! Don't expect to see me on the Rryatt trail anytime soon

But I'm not sure congratulations are in order here. I'm proof positive that "anyone can unlock a Jedi." I've just played the game as I wanted to play it, hunting with my guild, going to parties, filling orders, and swinging by the village anytime I noticed the lack of XP messages. I've never really "worked" toward Jedi, and until the Village came along, I had resigned myself to never unlocking because I refused to change my template. But I'm here now! And thanks for the kind words

Thats quite fine with me. I cant do "the grind" more than 2-3 hours at time at most. It drives me batty. My template so far is 0112 LS and novice, def, powers, and healer CL60. I'm taking some time to let my vis go down quite nicely before I start playing my Jedi again. My alt is a handsome young Ithorian at mid level rifleman and novice CH(CL34). Kinda waiting on him til the CH changes go live.

My guild is slowly dying from lack of new peoples and old players just leaving. Its usually no more than 2-4 people ever logged in anymore. Would be nice to have a Ranger and maybe his guildies to hang out with some.

Gratz to you and all that.

Have fun with the glowstick, and then get back to the serious work

Congrats!

I am about 1/2 way to unlocking myself. I am going to do it in one big go like you did. And I am definitely not grinding to get there - I am guessing it'll take me at least another year. Unless maternity leave is REALLY boring, which I doubt.

Well, I did it in ALMOST one big go. I've had the Survival line of Enhanced Reflexes for a while now

Paks, I've been meaning to ask you about your name for a while now. It wouldn't happen to be short of Paksenarrion, would it? My real-life and in-game wife goes by Paks on Starsider.

It most definitely is! On Starsider I also have a character named Torre Amrothlin (Torre's Necklace + one of the Duke's names). On Radiant is the original Paks. Moon describes her as a long yellow-haired lass, so I thought a blond wookiee would be perfect.

If you and your wife like Elisabeth Moon I think you will also like Lois McMaster Bjold - the Miles Vorkosigan series. It is more Sci Fi than fantasy, but SO much fun to read! The first one of the series is Cordellia's Honor. Vorkosigan + Paksenarrion became Vorpaks, and I've used it ever since. Most of my RL friends just natuarally call me Paks now, I've been using it so long.

Too cool for school! My Paks's surname on Starsider is Ministieri

We'll have to look into the Vorkosigan series. Sounds like a fun read. We need to put the two of you in the same room and let you gab for a while

Hee! Thanks. I'll probably be throwing up HTFB's long before I ever earn a box of Lightsaber skills. Although, seriously, this time it'll feel like cheating.
