I didn't get a chance to read fully through the patch notes, but I was just curious. Are we still supposed to get Scouting XP for passing near a hostile creature as usual. I'm on Dathomir right now (Kettemoor) on my way to the Village and any hostile creature I pass by gives me nothing. Not even a system message saying I got scouting XP. I've gotten nothing from CL 31 mobs and I've also gotten nothing from CL 68 mobs. I'm assuming that CL 80 mobs will also give me nothing (I know I passed one or two of those on my way to the village.
I stopped my speeder near a CL 68 reptilian flyer, got off my speeder, stood in the same spot as it, checked a few times to make sure my maskscent was still on, and, you guessed it...nothing.
Anyway, if it's supposed to be like this, I won't complain as I get most of my scouting xp from regular harvesting. I was mostly just curious and too lazy to REALLY read through the patch notes (just skimmed them, really)

I don't think the patch notes said anything about the XP being removed. I would imagine that what the Devs did was remove the Maskscent check from anyhting that cons grey (i.e. A grey con will completely and totally ignore you). Therefore, if they never make the check, you never successful 'sneak' past them and you don't get any xp.
Can I get a witness?

Ah, yep, just grey cons. I see. Finally got an enraged rancor to give my some scout xp. The nightsister rancors didn't give me anything though. Probably because they're just pets

I'm actually happy about that. One more step towards a combat class, as you can no longer drive around with mask scent/camo on and get tons of XP.

doesn't seem to be fixed at all. the only change i'm noticing is that i no longer get xp from lower lvl creatures.

DOH! Is MS actually breaking? I know the 'no grey con aggro' code was previously broken. Are they ignoring your MS, at least?

I went to the village this morning and my cammo didn't break at all, this included going past some NS Rangers.
also It seems that you get scouting xp only for critters that would attack you if you werne't camo/maskcented. I went by some Singing Mountain Clan members (SMC), lvl 79, and didn't get any scouting xp, however i have +5000 SMC faction. When I went by lvl 81 NS Rangers and lvl 71 SMC escaped slaves(green cons) i did get scout xp.

I agree w/Phen on this. If grey cons simply don't check at all, that removes the concern I had of someone driving around quickly filling scout XP and leveling up 3/4 of scout and ranger doing nothing more than driving by grey cons, with no risk whatsoever. This is actually a good thing if grey cons just completely don't check, don't agro, don't do anything anymore. One less source of annoyance.
Now, it would be REALLY nice if camo meant that grey con NPCs no longer bothered you either, regardless of faction affiliation or your standing with their particular factions.... unless, of course, you wanted to "bother them" first...
