I was never so exited in this game so far, until the other day wahen I hit /areatrack and my character put his hand up over his eyes and did the scanning animation....

I was like AWESOME! and that emotion hasn't hit me in this game in a while, I'm usually complaining.

I had suggested that animation be tied to the /areatrack command, I would like to think my advice was the reason for it but who am I kidding

Anyway, good job cleaning up /areatracks results, even though I will miss being able to locate my favorite vendors with it...

Now if they just could extend the range! 1000m is not much to ask for especially now with the newley filtered out results.

500m is just plain too short a distance especially since I have to stand still for the command to work. By the time I scan the area, my group could have covered the extra distance and fell into visual range of the creatures. I remember once I was like "There are some durni's like 250m to the west guys" and my friend was like..."Yeha, I see them"

/sigh

Good Job so far though....

"looking for some feedback dev's"

You may be looking for awhile.

I just read a greetings from GreenMarine on the Coorespondent forum (No, I can't post any details )

He states in his post that the developers are not allowed to post on the main forum.

I'm sure he appreciates the comments though.

----

On a related note, GreenMarinelisted what systems he is tasked to work on:

Ranger, Scout, Smuggler, Chef, Tailor, Merchant, Squad Leader (co-shared), Politician, City Planner...

And my I say, that is he is doing fine work with such a workload.

Yes I just got logged in and tried my /areatrack since it was fixed. Nicely done. They gave it an animation, and it's own I icon. Although I macro it with my character saying, "Tracking, please wait." I had to many people asking me what I'm stopping for. But with animation and a much much less delay I might not need that.

On the delay. Do we want it that fast all the time all the way through to master Ranger? Or do we want it like the reuse delay on mask scent for scouts. For example at novice Ranger the delay to wait for results is 30 seconds. At tracking 1 its 25, tracking 2 its 20, tracking 3 its 10 seconds, and tracking 4 its 5 seconds. That would give you a sence of getting better at tracking animals and staying on the move to some degree. Would be another rewarding thing for working your way up through Ranger skill lines.

Just a suggestion.

I would much rather that the tracking delay be scaled up as you progressthrough the Tracking line, but I' already Mastered so I guess I'm biased.

I just think it makes more sense to have a delay decrease as you get better at it.

Not only could the delay decrease (up to what it is now for Track 4), but maybe the distance increase.

250, 500 750 and 1000m could be the ranges as you go from Track 1-4.

Either that or make master ranger much better than Track 4 in distance, so that people like BH could never be as good as a MR.

While 500m is a short didtance I have used it alot to benefit my CH buddy to get rarer pets. Like Venamous Mereks and Aracne Webmasters. I love the skill and the animation rocks. GOOD JOB Greenmarine!

Not to pick apart your examples because I understand they were for illustration purposes...

But do realize that the viewing distance for the "naked eye" in game is around 200-250 so starting that low would be redundant and useless.

Maybe 500,750,1000,1500 as we progress...1500 being at master not 4th tier box

I like the concept.

However we may find it rather ineffective in practice unless the dynamic spawn system is adjusted to spawn creatures at a farther distance from the player.
