Thread: ANOTHER MUCH NEEDED SOURCE OF RANGER CASH!
I've found a another way for us Rangers to make money (other than the 10 heavies i run all day and night. Sorry purist comes in a little beneath Ruthless quest for ever expanding and sensless wealth on my priorities. My apologies. I AM a republican after all. Difference between a rich republican and a rich democrat? Rich republicans provide a service and try to make it easier for others to get rich. Rich democrats just make a movie once a year and get paid 10million for it so the can whine about whatever thier new cause is for the other 10 months that year.

Back on topic...
Master CH's are having a hard time here lately finding high level tamables, ie reduced spawns on rancors and grauls.
Rangers...
Here's a chance to use one of our few working skills to provide a valued service (for a fee) to our fellow players (customers).
I happen to be familiar with the 2km square area where gnarled rancors spawn on Dathomir. There is always a spawn in there somewhere. Given my ability to track, I can canvass that area in 30 min and find it, or multiples on good hunts. For a time I used this to gain an advantage on hunts, and the love of the small group i gather to hunt these.
But then...
THE EPIPHANY!!!!
While i was out doin my solo thing, my fav way to hunt since i can study while recoupin in camp, w/o a nagging and justifiably bored group hounding me, I happened upon a travellor who wandered into my camp.
All you remote-wilderness minded Rangers know that this is one of the coolest aspects of being in this profession. Every once in awhile while 4km from nowhere you bump into another individual and you have some of the best 20-30 min fireside chats you'll have in this game. And sometimes make a friend. That's one of the reasons why I love Ranger.
Well, back on topic yet again...
He was a Master CH looking for a g-rancor baby to tame. And had been for 3 hours. We started discussing this over a tantalizing can of sardines (ahhhh camp food. sad that i was actually eating them in RL at my computer. *still ponders why he lives alone*).
JESUS! Back on topic...
I told him he was about 500-600m from one right now. He was irrate for a moment. Then thanked me. Being kind and friendly Ranger I led him right to it. And stood ready to assist if he broke scent on the other rancs.
Well after we had tamed the baby ranc, and I let Azazel (my sludge panther, Christians hate that name *giggles with glee*) have his fun. We again found ourselves in camp chatting away (sadly enough sans sardines this time *cries uncontrolably for 11 seconds with seemingly limetless grief*). I asked him how the CH economic were progressing. He mentioned that life was getting better since the CH nerf. Pet prices were going up from the spawn reductions, and despite the hard time finding the creatures he could still tame and sell at least one a day for 50k.
Then...
As if a divine light from the heavens decended...
and touched me as a lover would on the cheek...
I smelled money.
I then said well, if i could triple that would it be worth 20% to you?
Imeditely, "HELL YES!"
I asked him how many creature spots he had left. He had one left.
In 30 min he was full, and i was... once again... chatting in camp. I loved being a cub scout. Weeblos always sounded suspicious to me so i dropped it there....
He was over joyed that in just under 2 hours (Counting chat and Sardine with cracker time!) He had accomplished 2 days of work. Happily tipping me 20k i tipped him back 10k and thanked him, but told him that due to my mining exploits I was financially comfortable and that Ranger was my hobby in this game. But i did tell him, that there were dedicated Rangers who were plagued with financial difficulties, some with even better abilities than me.
He asked for a list of them, and told me that anytime he was going looking for Rancors he would definitely contact them to see if they could provide this service. After a few trips with them, my Ranger friends emailed me pleased with this.
It's not a gold mine, but it's solid cash for using our skills, which i find makes the game more enjoyable. Rangers becoming the outfitters and the hunt guides of the game gives me immense pleasure and would keep me playing.
So Rangers...
Find and befriend a CH or 2. They thank you for it, and it at least covers your travels and expenses for a bit. Plus you get the harvests off of the kills of the parents!
