Thread: Need pet advice, please

I'm finally ready to start soloing some of the bigger critters, and everyone's telling me to get a tank pet. I'm not interested in the non-CH bugs, so I'm willing to pick up novice CH and a few additional boxes above that.

What I'm looking for is a good feline tank. My questionto the Ranger CH's is this: what skills beyond novice CH would allow me to effectively use a grand wrix as my hunting buddy? After picking up novice, I'll have 15 skill points to spare, which isn't much, but I'm looking for the best way to spread these out.

Thanks!

A 1/1/0/0 CH can use a grand wrix.

Same as the Greater Slug Panther on Talus. Both are great tanks. But some people say GW is better pvp pet, while gsp is better pve pet. Atm i got 3 gw, and 1 gsp and when one is to hurt i store him and call another one.

1/1/0/0 would allow a greater sludge panther from Talus too.

I'd recommend getting level I empathy for the Trick command - then giving it up after if you need the points back.

You'll also want someone to teach it "Group", or learn the skill yourself. It is invaluable to have both the trick and group commands for any pets. Luckily, there are enough CH's out there it shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the responses! I have a friend who's a master CH, so he'll be able to procure and train one for me.

Now I have to decide whether to go wrix or panther *grin*

Just my 2 cents. don't waste the skill slot on empathy 1 unless you are going to tame them yourself. Instead just make sure the person you buy him from teaches him trick 1 before you buy him. I know how valuable every skill point is for me so I thought I would just let you know.

I recomend 1/1/0/0 and get both a GSP and GW. Try them both.
