I always start with bulls, since they will always aggro. Try and split them up a bit by using Warning Shot/peace.

There is a tactic to extract singles from any social mob lair/camp( and I include NPCs in this ).

This is what you do:

1. Select the nearest and getto 64m distance from it
2. Target the next one >64m away
3. Initiate an attack on that one ( you won't be able to hit as you'll be too far away )
4. The one at 64m will aggro you and come solo

This is 100% reliable and I use it to pull single Mercenaries from Lok Merc mission as well as Seething Bols on Dantooine and many other mob types.

As the vernacular goes in my part of the world: "Piece of pish".

An alternative tactic I've seen that is very effective is:

1. Send in your 3 ATSTs
2. Take the odd potshot if you can be bothered
3. Wait 3 femto-seconds for the lair and all spawns to be destroyed
4. Smile smugly as you break the 10 million credit barrier.

Least until ATST is changed to PvP only...

Go for the bull first and make sure another bull is not close by. Then hit the regular Sharniffs...you will be fine that way.

Anyone have a good idea how to take Sharnaffs out, one by one. Normally you get all of them to add, unless a bull decide you smash your skull in. Does Warning shot work? Or will you scare one away while the rest runs at you to see who can 1 hit you.

The key to soloing Shar's if you don't have a pet is Glow traps (for range defense lowering) and Phen darts or Adhesive (for root). A good bleed shot is a must too. Also, a properly timed burst run will help.

Shar's are the heat... I love hunting them. Although - I have recently rediscovered Bantha's (all varieties) and they are slower... but about 1/2 the xp...

I hunted those for the first time this morning. Take out the bulls first. For some reason, when you attack a sharnuff, the bulls will assist, but if you attack a bull, the rest (including other bulls) just stand around.

Bulls are awesome to harvest btw. At tracking IV, I'm receiving 114 units and 539 scouting xp.

i've had luck using a bleed wound shot[i use pistol] at 63-64m then move back to 80-90m and wait for it to come at me mostly it draws just the 1 away ,then i'll use traps but that is a gamble since 1 never knows if the traps will work,if they do i keep hitting it and moving it back further away from the group i cant think of the names off hand but the phem to slow it,the wire mess to weaken it to attacks, entangle it, stun it w/nosie makerswhile hitting it w/body shot 2you have to hit it a few times w/ the same trap since it wears off, and u get great trap xp, since the last patch or the 1 b4 dont remember my trap success was worse, had then sharnaff all over me,oh sometimes u may pull 2 out of the group, keep running the 1 u targeted slows up but the other follows u longer, focus on the second one then go back and get the 1 u hit w/the bleed wound shot and it will b easier to finish off since it is wounded
