Thread: How Camo Kits Should Work!
Hello Fellow Rangers,
I have read the changes that are being made to the Camo Kits in Testcenter and it really upsets me that these changes haven't already been made. Even with these changes, I think that camo Kits will be totally worthless! The only way I will work my way up the Wayfaring tree is when Camo Kits serve a purpose in PvP. Here is my opinion on how Camo Kits shouldbe made MORE effective:
1. My number one issue is that Camo Kits should make MASTER Rangers totally invisible from other creatures, NPC's, and PLAYERS. Hence the word CAM-O-FLAUGE. I guess a Novice Artisan must have some built in RADAR that can detect a MASTER RANGER covered in Rancor feces, lying in a 40ft ditch on Dathomir.
Hmmm.....just think about it fellow Rangers, why should we just settle for being undectable by creatures and NPCs???? We should also be invisible to Players as well. The least the Dev's could do is remove the Dot from the Radar. How hard could that be????? With this feature added it could bring alot more strategy and tactics into PvP, rather than the current PvP scenario....a Commando vs. Commando, with everyone else running around on FIRE.
When camo kits are used in groups, ambushes could be effectively sprung on unsuspecting parties. Of course, Camoflauge should have it's limitations. Another Novice Ranger would have a chance to break your conceal depending on his level. If a MASTER RANGER attacks while Camoflauaged his conceal should break if he is with 30M, and have the CHANCE to break depend on how far out he is.
Also, what good is the Track Players ability if they can see you coming. Just think if you were invisible on Radar you could track a player without his knowledge(which should be the case now).
Of course Camo Kits should not work in municipal zones, so parties could not just walk up into town Invisible and commence to whooping some arse.
Anyways, I hope these changes are implemented eventually. Let me know what you guy/gals think!

I think this is a great idea, particularly the part about removing the radar blip. Take or leave the rest of it as you will, but that bit at least should go into production. If a pure noob, zeros across the board can pick out a Master Ranger just by looking for a little blue dot, then why have camoflauge at all? A big part of the game is supposed to be PvP... why not give some strengths to the folks that aren't 100% zeroed in on combat? I do think that not only Rangers, but Scouts should have a chance to detect camo-ed Rangers... that's part of a real Scout's mission after all, and would give a little more playability to SLs as well. Anyway, that's my 2 creds.
Nice idea but here's how I'd do it.
1) Only a MASTER Ranger should be allowed tomake other players invisible on radar.
2) If anyone other than a MASTER Ranger moveswhile concealed they would lose their camoflauged-from-other-playersstatus and their blip would return to the radar.
3) If anyone, including a MASTER Ranger attacks while camoflauged-from-other-players their "invisible to radar" status comes to an end.
4) NOVICE Rangers could use camo to remove themselves from the Radar at Wayfaring IV. But if they move while camoflauged they break their "invisible" status.
-This has to be done to keep every Bounty Hunter dabbler out there from taking up Ranger for the ability to move while concealed from the radar. If you want that awesome power you should have to invest all 63 points to get master Ranger.
In the (likely) event that the Devs poo-poo the idea of giving Rangers an ability that totaly removes them from the radar...
At least allow us to change the color of our blip from red to yellow. Then a clever ranger would still be able to trick unwary players into thinking he's nothing more than a harmless Gubber or Wortt until the moment he or she pounces on them(or blows a hole in them a foot wide for all you non-melee rangers).
