Oh man is fishing the worst pain in the game!!!!

The Master BE's must be crying! I know the problems with milk for the chefs and its not even close to the fish issue.

I went and fished today for 6 hours and got a little over 300 units fish meat. Now I'm a novice ranger 1/3/2/1 and I could have hunted hide for 6 hours and had 6 - 10K of it. The Master BE's say they need 25 fish meat to make a Pet Stim D's do ever think they will get to do a factory run of that?

To do a full factory run of 100 units would mean 2500 units of fish. Thats around 48 hours of fishing!

Oh and just incase you think I didn't know what I was doing.: My fishing pole rated at 74% the location 4 star's for Fish Density and 0 for vegetation. With my feet in the water not off a bridge.

My point is Rangers should be able to fish much better than this!

One of the suggested changes is the ability for rangers to place fishing traps/nets.

The idea is out there, it's just a question of how timely it can be implemented.

I dunno, I kinda like fishing the way it is. I don't ever grind for anything. In an hour or so of fishing, I can usually get around 50 units of fish. I like the fact that I can then go and sell this to someone who is willing to pay 10+ cpu for it because it is rare and hard to come by. Maybe some things just aren't meant to be mass-produced.

I enjoy fishing, so I do it just for fun. Fish sells on the bazaar at around 10-20 cpu, which is about what I get for good insect or herbivore meat that I can pull in five or ten times as fast. I believe that BEs just don't make the stuff that requires fish. If the devs want BEs to be able to make things with fish, they need to give fish harvest amounts a big bump. It shouldn't be hugely profitable to fish, since it is a very low risk activity. But I think it does need a boost.

As a former almost master BE, and now instead almost mastered ranger - your correct - BE's dont use the fish right now because they dont have anything but stims that actually work (though it's coming soon).

Well they should just increase the amount yeided, I agree. It should be comperable to what you could harvest off of the smallest creature. IE if you got 12 meat from a durni you should get 12 from a fish, ,so it should increase with your creture harvesting skills.

IN THE MEANTIME

Charge appropiriately and accordingly if you get half as much meat from a fish than the smallest creture you need to charge twice as much for the meat to break even.

And get fishing buddies if you can.
