Is there a way to grind my way up the trapping tree. Help is appreciated

make lots of traps and join a hunting party on dantooine and hunt voritor lizards the give just under 1k trapping xp per trap. and dont make any ranger traps they are worthless and dont work, stick with wire mesh

Actually I just finished Trapping last night as well as tracking and Wayfairing and I did all of it on Dath. Using Ranger traps hunting with 6-9 other players. We were hunting Enraged Rancor's, Gnarled Rancor's, and Mutant Rancor's. All of them gave me over 1800 xp of traps plus another 1800 xp of scouting. So I mastered trapping, tracking, and wayfairing in just under 4 hours. I started off the night at 1 1 2 1 and I am sitting at 4 1 4 4, so all I have left to do is Frontering 2, 3, 4.

The only problem with the Dath creatures is the traps don't work nearly as often on the higher level creatures. As was posted above, trapping on Dant has a better than 50/50 success rate, typically, especially at lower levels of trapping.

Rogue Fambaas are right around 505xp/trap - to throw in another number.

I take my graul mauler and let him tank while I spam glow-wire traps. You can do this solo if you have a pet, with little risk, and can likely do the whole tree in a few hours. Adhesive mesh and the slowing traps are nice to keep the mob and pet from running all over the place too.

I use Glow Traps. My other question is.. after I hit the creature once does it matter to throw another trap at the same creature..I have NEVER had success with 2 traps on the same creature..just failures. I have thrown up to 10 traps at the same creature with only 1 successful hit.

certain traps (esp the ones that do dmg to the critter) are limited use... you need to wait until the stun/blind/dizzy goes away before you can use another... my groups love the glow wire traps (ranged and melee def down) and the phenol (snare) ones... use the glow ones to open a fight and the phenol for limited Crowd Control... i seem to be the one keeping us all alive using my traps and warningshot wisely

I just finished Ranger Trapping 4 in about 15 minutes on Dantooine, by throwing mesh traps (3 hide, 3 bone) at voritor dashers for about 670 xp each.

Just get on a team and throw, throw, throw

If you have a high Creature Handler friend head to Dant and get brackaset missions. Have him send a pet in to hold the agroand keep firing traps at the bitch, you'll get about 530 xp for each trap. That's how i got all the trapping in scout in about 45 mins.

Trap everything you comes across that gives you a decent challenge and throw the traps that are stackable.

I recommend Dantooine as well. Bols specifically. They don't deathblow, and you can get 300-400xp of Trapping XP per hit.

I just finished Trapping IV last night on Dant too. But I love using Traps. They make me feel like an EQ Enchanter I generally do Glow-Wire followed by Sonic Pulse followed by Flash Bomb. Debuff > Stun/Dizzy > Blind. But I also have Carbine IV, which grants Warning Shot. I'll Adhesive Mesh it and then Warning Shot it for a pseudo reverse kite.

I carry crates of all of them. Just makes calling them up so much faster, particularly with limited inventory space.

When i dropped the trapping line to work on CH (which i realized wasnt worth my time) I got advanced trapping 3 and 4 back on Rori, throwing traps at ravenous tortons. I'd go through 4 stacks of traps on each torton, netting me 120k trap xp off of 4 missions, at 6 tortons per mission. this included meager tortons and "trap did not affect target" every now and then. just get a tank on the torton and toss away. They are vunerable to heat also so it makes finishing them of super easy.
