Have not seen anything on this for a while. I habe been asking people in game what to do to say make a schematic instead of prototype. I have tried several times, even on the camo kits with all really good resources, standing next to a city crafting station, and a private crafting station. I have scoured all the screens involved with crafting something, and I have yet to see an option to make schematic or to experiment. The only think I have seen the second sreen in where on camo kits it lists the percentage of quantity at the bottom.

Maybe I'm bugged, or maybe I'm missing something. I know a ranger friend makes schematics for traps and camps, to make crates in factory. So it can be done, but I can't figure out how to do it on my scouting stuff. I have no artisan if that makes a difference.

Please help me. What can we make schematics for in our stuff, and where do I get that option?

Some quick questions from my hazy memory:

Are you sure you're using a "Weapon, Droid and Generic Crafting Tool"? The "Generic Crafting Tool" I don't think allows you to experiment nor create a schematic.

Experimentation on Traps, Camo Kits and Camps have no affect. I think the button has been removed from that window for some of those in fact, since I normally just get "Make Prototype" or "Make Schematic". Therefore, resource quality matters not.

I looked around but I cannot find anything that specifically says Novice Artisan is a requirement for making schematics. However, I couldn't find anything that specifically said it wasn't

I was standing near, and even tried targetting it, a Weapon, Droid, General Crafting Station. Buuuuuut, I am using a Generic crafting Tool. Is that my problem? So basically I need to get a Weapon, Droid, General Crafting Tool? Man that makes sence and I never thought of that.

Make sure when you buy your tool that its effectiveness is close to +15. Also, I already own a private crafting station at myseaside outpostoutside of Theed which has higher effectiveness than the public stations if you ever want to use it. If you ever want to use it, just let me know a little ahead of time so I can add you to the access list and send you the waypoint. Also, I already own an equipment factory if you need stuff run.

Just let me know in-game if you need anything or have other questions. I have been running scout/ranger stuff through a factory for awhile now. Good luck!

That is exactly it. Found that one out the hard way too. But now I enjoy experimenting with my camo kits, highest yied I have had so far was 17 usesfor a Dath one.

You can get around 20 for a Dant one on Kettemoor right now. It helps that the Scaley has an OQ of 998 and the Herbivore meat is really good right now too......

If you don't have someone in mind on Bria who makes tools for you and can't find a decent one on the bazaar...contact Strych. Last time I talked to him, he was still in the business of selling this stuff and makes stuff with good effectiveness. Tell him Kofrist and Oxran sent ya.

The option to make schematics has *nothing* to do with quality of resources or quality of tools. What it has to do with is you must have the right tool and be standing next to the right crafting station.I make schematics all the time. Get a weapons crafting tool (not a generic one) and stand*directly* in frontof a weapons crafting station (I use a private one since it's close to my factory). Then craft away and you should be seeing the option to make a schematic every time.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry one bit about the quality of tools or the station for a ranger. Just buy whatever you can find on the bazarand don't give it a second thought. When you are constructing PA halls worth 300k, you need to worry about frequency of crit fails. In fact you obsess over it. When you are constructing traps worth 50cr, such things are not the slightest concern.
