Thread: The end of the Antarian Ranger .....
.... or at least the role-playing part of it. ![]()
For those of you role-playing the AR in order to help and assist the Jedi as stated in our history, forget it!!
It used to be that Jedi visibility (the part that causes Jedi to appear on BH terminals) was only gained if the Jedi used any force moves in front of an imperial player. However, with the latest Jedi patches, anytime the Jedi wields the saber in battleit creates a tef and now increases visibility even if those present are rebel! So hanging out with a Jedi for a few hours will now get them on the bounty list. So AR and anyone else that hangs around a Jedi is basically just endangering them.
What this means is that Jedi must now advance and hunt by themselves - or never use their saber in front of anyone.
Way to go SOE!! Another fun role-playing opportunity lost! You have just turned SWG into the most boring solo-grinding game now that Jedi can no longer hang out with their buds.First theywant/expect everyone to interact with each other, then they design the ultimate profession as a solo-game!!
So now AR can go back to what we were originally - just a bunch of fun-loving rangers hunting and grinding together....
You can still help the JEDI just not be there when they are using the force. Area tracking for Bounty Hunters in the area that the JEDI are in will let them know if someone is coming perhaps before they show up on there map. Sending a tell that it is all-clear or incoming may save their lives
Now is the time to be inventive ![]()

Still sounds pretty good to me...
Yea I kind of thought about that part too. I have even tried contacting a couple jedi I saw in game, and telling them I'm a ranger and want to play the roll or an AR for them. They ignored me, didn't answer tells, and didn't reply to emails. OH well.
I agree with Circle.
I don't think most current Jediare the roleplaying type. The Antarian Rangers could take on potential Jedi and help them advance to their goal of becoming full-fleged Jedi. There's always a way around. ![]()
In addition, I think there's too much emphasis being put on this Jedi/Ranger relationship. Then again, maybe I have a different vision of what an Antarian Ranger really is.

I think that the Ranger/Jedi relation is perfect. Jedi usually have to go to adv planets, to get good xp or to just avoid other players. A ranger can apply camo to them, find certain creatures for them to hunt, and watch for others coming near.
Personally I think that the bounty points should be determined not by how much u use the force/lightsaber in front of others, but how many others u use it in front of.
Now you have to think, jedi usually end up on the Bounty list anyways sooner or later, now does he want to have a group of Rangers at his side ready to hold of the BHs or does he really want to be out there by himself. If anything he is going to want a group of people he can call that will drop what they are doing to help him.
Being an Imperial Ranger I was part of a Jedi hunt recently. I was just barely able to keep the jedi in track once he took off(forcerun1) but I eventually caught him using my speeder, fortuantly for him his tef had past, but he had also called in a well known rebel guild to help him(probably of his main chars guild).
I am sure there are plenty of uses for you guys. Rangers are both those that will help jedi live and those that will help them become hunted. Alot of relation imo.
Actually, was at Fort Tusken when a Jedi was fighting. He got a TEF and only the Imperials could target him.
But heyy... I didn't kill him. Heh...not screwing with a dude in full composite and a 1k hit.

Why work for jedi when you could work for abounty hunter who will pay you 75k to find the jedi?
Everyone works for their own reasons, if you consider yourself the merc type thats fine. Obviously those of the Antarian Rangers would help jedi, because its how they play themselves. I would not need money, I would be there ready to attack them. Now don't get me wrong, I wont them to make it to Master Jedi, just making sure they earn it.
