Is this a done deal or what? I'm wondering if this is something we're going to push for

I wish we could push for it but I wouldn't know where to start.

its the only thing that really distinguishes concealment from mask scent.... I honestly doubt we'll be heard until a month or two after they "fix" it...

Actually, the devs have said that conceal was never meant to work against humanoid NPCs. Which really leaves no distinction at all between maskscent and conceal.

I'm confused...the devs said it was never meant to work against NPCs? Then why is it that when you select wayfaring 1 on the ranger skill tree in the game, and then put your mouse arrow over "/conceal", the pop-up box says "camouflage against NPCs and animals"?

You are absolutly right, NPCs are included in conceal definition.

But today, every NPC aggro me as soon as i'm into 64m

It's definetly a nerf, since the description clearly says that it works for NPCs as well... now it's like.. oh no... sorry , we made a mistake.. .. Indian Givers!!

Seriously.. if I can camo from a freakin animal.. which has a great sense of smell, and great sight, and night vision and so on.. I can't hide from a retard NPC?! Stupid, very stupid..

True, some NPCs should be harder to hide from then others, just like animals.. but it should still work against both.

When did this change/break? I used to use conceal against NPCs all the time. It rendered XP for me and allowed my to pass very closely to the humanoid maulers in Naboo.

The /conceal skill working against NPC's is what differentiated me from being a Scout. No longer was I just avoiding the deadly creatures but my well applied camoflauge allowed me to scout out an enemy NPC target (eg Mauler Base, Pirate Camp, etc.). I really enjoyed being the reconnaissance and bringing back enemy intelligence to help a pre-battle planning.

I have always been and will always consider myself a Ranger, I just no longer see a need to keep the Master Ranger skill box while the devs 'fix' me back to being a Master Scout.

As was pointed out, the Conceal skill description does specifically state that it works vs "NPCs and Critters". It is distinct and separate from Mask Scent. Mask Scent simply conceals your natural smell so animals will not see you as either a threat or a meal. Conceal is VISUAL camouflage, blending you into the surrounding environment. You use camouflage to hide from intelligent creatures - ask any Special Forces soldier or sniper.

Personally, I think Mask Scent and Conceal should be separate, but complimentary and stackable skills, since by definition they ARE separate things. However, I'd settle for just having Conceal work vs both NPCs and critters like it used to.

we've got to fight! for our right! to paaaaaarty!! er....conceal. Seriously, this is something we should have. There are lots of reasons. If you have one, you should put it down in Squidwalker's thread. it's dedicated to promoting ideas of WHY we should keep it, restricting it to gameplay reasons.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Well, it better get adressed soon, cause i'm in my holidays, and i have plenty of play time, and today i just cannot have fun...

I am riffleman, i like to hunt the wild, croutch down, and hunt animals, and harvest them. I could do that last night. Today, it's impossible, i get attacked by tuskens, nightsister clans, Desert Demons, Alkara Bandits, Thugs, Pirates, etc etc. Since i'm riffleman, i don't have much defense when the NPC charge up to me.

As long as NPC aggros can spawn randomly anywhere, and with an aggro range of 64m, then our profession is down a serious asset. Camouflage is what saved the ranger by giving us a second good line. Now it's gonna die again, i foresee most rangers go back to 0040, but with the inconsistency of tracking, maybe 0000 sounds better.

Anyways, might not be a big deal to you guys, but it's a serious hit to me, many artisans and BE and CH counted on me to travel safely....

If it is broken, weshould not fight to get it back...just prod the devs to fix it.

If it is a nerf, then we would beat them into submission if we had any combat bonuses . Seriously, if it is a nerf, we must fight for its safe return!!!
