Thread: Apparently us rangers are meant to be poor...

...and God forgive we get a decent price for our resources. I just read the pricing guide on here, it appears that most of you are in agreement that those prices guidelines are fair for what we do, yet people like this making threads dedicated to dictating or complaining about pricing are going to be the ones to ensure we can continue to work and make nothing for our work.

Also try selling to master's not just anyone. If you have a resource that has 800 or 900 in a prim req you can make some good credits.

Its folks like that guy in that thread that I avoid. I wontharvest for someone that dont appreciate the effort involved in harvesting the resources, thatthey use to charge an arm and a leg to apply.

On a better note though, I have found a few really cool Docs and Smithies that always pay their respects to our profession and have said they dont know how we do it. Now, guys like that I will slash prices for, when I feel comfortable with my financial standing. I wont cut my throat.

The bottom line is we charge what we do because we take the risks and spend the time that they dont wish to or dont have the skills to do so they can get rich and have fun. IMHO let those that complain walk a mile in our shoes for a week and they will sing a different tune.

Its all about the right customer. As someone said look for the masters, the ones that want mass quantities of the HQ resources to make their income. Docs, BE, Chefs, are the key ones I sell to . They will easily and happily pay 30cpu for some really good resources, especially if I can get them a lot of it. I have a bank account 1mil or more, from just selling resources, and getting paid for missions that I do, to collect those resources.

The key is to finda few customers that are constant and will buy from you. Then keep an eye on the good resources, and when it shifts, go find where the good stuff is. Get a hunting party together, preferably scouts and rangers so they can all harvest. Buy the resources they get at the you are selling it to your customer for. Then you have it all together and you go sell it to your customer.

Not bragging, but for a point of reference I justed started selling resource about 2 weeks ago, and it has been enormously profitable. Here's how the story goes... I read a game guide that told me Rangers and Scouts can sell resources for a profit... what??? you mean all the $&(^*&^ in my backpack is actually worth something??? Get out... well i guess i'll give it a try. Found some decent meat on Naboo (the planet i was on at the time)... decent/not high-end... probably OQ 600+ PE 600+. Hunted and harvested in the newbie areas for a while, checked the price guide in the game guide, figured out 3k credits amounts, threw it on the bazarr (please only add it on Tattooine, Naboo or Corelli, because that is where most people are), added a couple of extra units in for customer satisifaction. Sold it before the day was out, sent an email to the buyers thanking them for purchasing the meats, and it they wanted more to contact me and let me know... got a couple of responses, instant customers. The real money started rolling in when I checked the Trade Forum for my galaxy... Docs will tell you want they want and what they want to pay. Go Hunt and cash in, build a client list. Only hunt the best resource (highestpaying cpu)until a new one spawns, and try and get it in large stacks (10k+). Final result after 2 weeks of hunting my tail off.... 11 million credits plus numerous other items (holocrons, krayt tissue, etc.) I'm now in semi-retirement... I'll only hunt on special order for high paying customers.

I'm more of a PvP character right now, but I made millions off resources. Once you get a nice wad of credits, stockpile the super resources until there's a resource shift and the market's hungry, then sell your stuff for 50 - 100c/u.

OK, what's poor? I have 1.5 million creds in the bank, all my lots are filled with harvs or houses, all kinds of weapons, a couple of tons or more of resources, and I have not even begun to finish all the quests I want to.

With the recent glut of cron grinders, I am selling absolute garbage hides and meats for decent prices. Drop a 500 stack of 100 OQ- no stats over 400- hide on the vendor, price it at 3k and see how far you can walk before it sells. The other day I did not even clear the market area. Yeah, thats 6cpu, I am not a math major and refuse to price stuff using some bs complicated formula. Yeah, yeah, go ahead. You spend 15 mins pricing the stuff, then it is so high no one wants it, and in the meantime I am selling all my stuff and laffing all the way to the bank.

My simple rules. 500 stacks on the bazaar for 3000. If it has not sold in two days (almost never happens) pick it up, drop it on another vendor on a new planet. Don't try and sell stuff on the off the wall planets where no one lives, go to the populated areas.

Also, look at what is for sale. If there are no hides or bone or meat, that's an indication that your stuff may sell quick.

Now, for the good stuff - find a friend or make a friend who wants your stuff. Cut deals for stims/enhanced clothes/discounts. Price the stuff decent, no gouging, and you make a friend for life.
