Thread: New Ranger working his way up (by choice not by holo)

Hi all,
Just wanted to introduce myself. I've spent the last six months as a chef and artisan, and I've decided to change my gameplay lifestyle and become a ranger. In my old profession I had the pleasure of getting to know many rangers, and I've always been intrigued by the profession. And, like my pursuit of chef, I'm taking it on myself, not because some little blue box told me to.
I've been enjoying my first few hunts and I'm really liking what I can do with only Tracking II so far - even if /areatrack isn't the end-all, be-all skill as many posts suggest, I still think it's very, very cool. The best thing, though, is getting out there in the world. Too often I've been tied to my post, crafting away, and I really like the fresh air. I can definitely see the appeal that surely brought so many of you to the profession.
Anyhow, I just wanted to say hi to everyone, just in case some of you see my posts here in the future.

the bane of any Rangers existance.
Quick catch up - rasps and kreetles can break maskscent/camo at 100 meters without trying. Kill them, kill them all.
Rangers in a group are target #1 for any aggro creature, regardless of where the Ranger is, what he/she is doing, or what the other party members are doing. The larger the creature, the better the chance that the creature will aggro on the Ranger first.
I swear a Rancor aggro'd on me while I was sitting in my house, 3 planets away.
The Scout correspondent like to make monkey and tell us about monkey making opportunities. Never post with fat fingers late at night.
Talus camo kits look like 6 packs of beer, and Rangers have been know to make same, labeled as beer, and sell them for decent money (monkey).

Dogpile on the ranger, eh? Oh, swell.
I've always been the one that caught the aggro on our PA hunts before, but I figured that it was because of my Master Chef tag, which I once thought would strike fear into the hearts of all creatures big and small - It didn't and it only got worse after every TKA in the game thought it'd be really funny to fight with the chef hat on. The more things change, the more they stay the same, I guess.
Actually, I noticed that about the rasps yesterday, actually, since I was on Talus getting avian meat for my guild (the only decent avian meat in the galaxy). So, I put the hurt on quite a few of the little buggers for ya.

Rasps? pish posh. Crazed Durnis on the other hand need to be extinct. Yesterday.

Although while the rasps and kreetles have been given a bad rap, I personally dont mind the nasty little birds. (although dont fly through a pack on your speeder with your mouth open, they are really filthy)
I hate shauputs...evil little demon monkeys...hate them sooo much. and yes, kreetles do seem to have the best olfactory senses in the galaxy. I hate them too.

I'm a Scout and Novice Ranger/CH, I started as a Scout on Tattoine and learnt some marksman. In training both my pistol and scout skills there I grew a opinion about krettles.
My attitude towards kreetles: Burn them ALL
Nothing against rasps, but they're so weak. It's fun to blast them, kill them in one hit, and watch them give a comical squawkand fall to the ground with a thud. If they evolved better they would give off a sound like nails on a blackboard and carfully lower to the ground.
Anyway, I'm glad to see another Ranger. Ranger has alot ofroom to improve. Not to say it's a bad class, it's alot better than many and no-one wants to nerf it-just that it has alot that can be done good to it.
