I've been a MCH and part Ranger (4-0-4-0) for a long, long time now. But until Ranger gets some serious attention, I;ve gotta use mt skill points elsewhere.

I never bothered with the camps or traps in Ranger since they're both basically worthless. I can't remember the last time I needed anything bigger than a basic camp, just to call stuff. And frankly, my pets can stop,slow-down, dizzy, knockdown, disease, and intimidate all animals better than any trap. Not to mention that I can use them on player pets, and players.

I will miss tracking and certainly miss my harvesting bonuses. But moving my skill points to combat areas, I'll be taking down animals at a much faster rate, thus harvesting faster, thus probably getting the same(or close to the same) number of resources in the same amount of time. But it will also make me viable for PvP. Which a Ranger isn't. At all.

Good luck to all of you sticking with Ranger, and I hope the profession gets some loving soon. I may come back to it if it ever gets the attention it needs to make it a more well-rounded profession.

I hope that ranger eventually meets yours (and honestly all of our expectations) in the future.

Unfortunately, this fact is what dissappoints me most after having been a master ranger now for quite some time. Preaching to the choir, I know, but geez! you'd think being a master ranger would mean something in terms of taking down animals better than any other profession, or at least would be a major bonus! with the current focus of the profession.........NOT!, and despite whatever combat profession has been chosen.

I keep holding on to it just hoping for the day

Typical conversation......."So Fiahow are you going to try chef? Me: "Well, I'm so tempted, but think I want to hang on to ranger for awhile still............." (Repeat and Rinse) and so on.

I will admit, the thought of doing it over again is not something I would like to do, especially if its improved from where its at now. I have hopes of experiencing the profession as we all would like to see it.
