Okay, I finally had the opportunity to use /rescue. I was hunting on Dath and saw a Novice TKA getting his mind bar torn by Giant Baz Natches(sp?). I jump off my speeder and...well, do I target the MOB or the person when doing /rescue? I did both and neither worked.

I finally "rescued" the individual by whacking the Giant Baz Natch(sp?) with my Gaffe stick. That turned the MOBs attention to me.

Questions:

1. Does rescue work on animals as well as NPCs.

2. Does camo hinder rescue.

3. Who do I target?

You target the person being rescued.

Issues you may have run into:

1. Not targeting the person (obviously)

2. Skill failure. It happens.

3. The person kept fighting.

If the person hits/shoots the target again, it will continue to attack that person. What you need is to tell them that they are being rescued, and that they need to peace. You may also need to make a few attempts.

If there's anything I missed, I'm sure someone can point it out. I've never successfully used the skill.

You target the person you are trying to rescue to rescue them. Plus, I believe they need to /peace so the attacking mob will turn it's attention on to you. When out hunting, I target the person I'm trying to rescue and use the following macro:

/tt %TT, I'm going to rescue you! Hit PEACE and run!;

/shout %TT, I'm going to rescue you! Hit PEACE and run!;

/pause 2;

/rescue;

/shout Hey, pug-ugly! Yeah, I'm talking to you!

I also chuck a phecnacine dart trap to slow the creature down and give the person a little more time to get away. I know adhesive mesh traps will root a creature, but they only come in stacks of two, which kind of bugs.

I have only used it on animals, so I know it works on them.

Camo seems to have no effect on the rescue.

Target the person you're trying to rescue.

Thanks for the replies

I think the main problem was that the individual was running without hitting peace, so they were fighting while retreating. I'm not sure I'll get the chance to use /rescue again, but I'll at least have the macro written just in case. Thanks again.

And doesn't the description say that it has to be a group member? Is that an error, am I mistaken, or is that true?
