Thread: Exterminators! Insect Harvest Rates?

Which insects are the best/easiest to harvest for quantity? I assume they are the tough ones on advanced planets, but are there any in particular that aren't impossible to killand spill a good chunk of meat? I'm a CM with novice rifle, so I can handle something much tougher than a hermit spider, but I don't want to spend all day just barely survivinga cavern spider either. Thanks in advance for you feedback; the creature guides don't really say how many units can be harvested.

Giant dalyrakes (CL 18) are a great low-mid level creature with decent harvests. You won't get the large amounts you might from a gaping spider or arachne, but you can kill them very quickly with a small amount of combat skill.
If you hunt them on Talus, there are several other insect types you can quickly kill to supplement the harvest.

YAY...you checked the guides first (I assume you went to swgcreatures.com). The higher the CL, the larger the harvest (generally speaking).

Yes, I did check SWGcreatures, but it seems all the insects above lvl 15 or 20 are extremely agressive, as if there's a huge gap: I'm either one-shotting hermit spiders or getting torn up by an angler. Nice to know about the dalyrakes though. Sounds like that might be the sweetspot.
