Ranger Archive

Well I've been at Master Ranger for a month now and each day that passes just feels like I'm wasting my SWG experience. I have been progressing through scout and ranger since launch and have had a good time doing it. I took my time to progress the trees because I knew if I rushed it, I would just get bored and probably drop the skill. Most of what made Ranger fun for me was how it complimented my combat skill (carbine). Now I know this isn't the best combat skill, but the ability to take on multiple target efficiently (well supposedly) is what made be try the carb. So there was a point in the game a few months back when I was having my best time. Our skills were still having plenty of problems but combat bleeds were not nerfed. I had the greatest amount of excitement creeping up on Rancors, planting a stacked action bleed, and then finding the nearest hill to get my butt out of there. I could be loner that I wanted to be, whose heard of large groups of Rangers working together, it would scare the hunt away heh. The only things that have held me to Ranger thus far has been the occasional huge offerings for harvests on my server, the usefulness of my camps to bring out my vehicle, and the "WHOA" expression I always seemed to get when accompaning a large group and throwin down a high tech field base.

I have been one that has tried to keep in our "Ranger Mindset" and just play the game. I have not been so vocal on the boards, but am an active reader of them. There doesn't seem to be any response on when our profession is gonna be brought back to life and this is the most disheartening of all. This is not a rant, but maybe it will be helpful if the devs read these boards and want know why Rangers are dieing off. I'm not one that usually quits things, but boredom is getting the best of me.

Ive said it before and I will say it again.

There is no shame in leaving Ranger to go have some more fun and experience other professions. I mastered ranger, and then after 3 months, dropped it entirely and went exploring. I found myself back here though

If you arent having fun...go find it, if in the future, rangers have what you want, come back. I would hate to see you play ranger out of obligation.

In anycase, we are not broken, just underpowered and underskilled. When I get bored, I switch a combat prof...that kinda puts the excitement back in the game for me when a kaadu can incap me heheh
