I'm very much the novice ranger here, but that is basically my question. What guidelines do you use totell how much a resource is worth?

For example, I'll run across a resource or get a tip and say wow, those are some high numbers. Then I think, now what. Find out how much it's worth, or start collecting and worry latter.

Other questions I have iswhatis a good lot size (to collect) and is the bazarre a good place to sell?

Thanks, Jesse

In short, there is no hard and fast rule/guide as everything depends on the resource, the quality, who is buying, how long it's been available, how desperate you are for coin...

But this should give you something to mull over:

Volsteds Guide to resource pricing>

http:
/forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=ranger&message.id=27962 (if the clicky didn't work...) (and if that didn't work, it's in the stickies)

And the bazaar is fine for selling off small quantities of grinding grade junk but not for the better stuff.

This question comes up pretty often.. in fact the last time was 7 days ago. Here's the thread.

Volsted's guide was really useful when he first posted it, and for several months afterwards. But a year later, it's pretty outdated. Not to mention a few inaccuracies.

Example:

For Herbivore Meat, Avian Meat, Fish Meat, and Dathomirian Insect Meat:
(OQ + OQ + PE)/3

PE in Avian meat is far more important. Dath insect meat, being used in Pet stims, isn't nearly as in demand as it once was. Also, it doesn't even take into account what Chefs need.. (insect meat needing 75% DR and 25% oq for vercupti.

Not to knock volsted, but the game and the economy have changed in the past year. The only guidelines that rangers use these days is to view the trade forums, or find out what crafters want on RIN and ask what they need, and what they're paying. Really, it all comes down to what the crafters want to pay, rather than what rangers should charge.
