Thread: aqua rangers??

there is a lot of water on some planets that isnt being put to as much use as it could be , we fish , but thats it.......... surely there is scope for boats an stuff with big water nasties , yaghts , combat ships , floatin bases? or jus float off an be a sea hermit , rangerin it up on the open waves, huntin uber sharks for cool,new resources or what ever , or diving to the sea bed for rare items , this idea has only jus popped into my head so theres all sorts of things you could add to this , seein as we are a wacky off the wall proff I thought this would be an ideal off on a tangent sort of thing a ranger could get involved on , make it a ranger only skill or something surely this could be an area that only rangers could exploit somehow,I know we can all interact with the water ingame , jus make it exclusive to us to utilise , i dunno , or tell me its crap , lol.....................the floor is now open

I think it'd be cool if there were some more diversity and skill added to fishing. Having your fishing skill tied to harvesting or something. That way you could start catching bigger and bigger fish. At master ranger you would have the very rare chance of gatching some big A$$ fish and get a reasonable chunk of meat off them... maybe even some loot like a pearl or something. I've thought for a while now that this would be a good idea and would like to see it in the game. It'd make fishing more fun and adventurous and opens up more opportunities for fishing derbies which are quite limited as they are now.

praps the ability to build a jetty or something , or a water side camp with a jetty an a small boat , an yea uppin the stakes in fishin would be cool with the chance of some cool rare loot of some sort , or praps some new rare resource that is in big demand that only rangers can obtain from the sea or rivers ,lot of scope here me thinks for some cool ranger only benefits an content ,................

You'd see a buttload of cities moving oceanside with all their inhabitants wanting sea side houses with a view.
I kinda like the idea though. Could also add value to different baits. ALSO, make NPC bodies harvestable so we can use chunks of torso or heads as bait for the larger catches.

I used to think having a little raft or something would be cool (I'd love to just sit and fish out in the middle of that huge body of water on endor), but it would only be worthwhile if, like Cryos suggests, we can catch bigger fish with more meat per critter. Otherwise, our fishing time would be better spent powerfishing in ankle-deep water where running up to the lure after you get a catch is an option.
Still, you'd think I'd be able to craft a small raft, seeing as how I can make a huge pavillion, two crafting stations, an energy barrier, a chessboard, tables, chairs, cots, and bunkers out of a few units of bone, hide, and metal.
