Master Ranger gets no special trap,I think it should be adhesive mesh with an area of effect.

Cause we all know how Master Ranger should have a special trap, that and all the other traps are worthless except to grind xp (can just kill any animals they work on in less than 10 shots so whats the point)

SoI was thinking what would be a good idea without being to far fetched ... Since Master Rangers can only master 1 combat profession they should be able to use a simple to implement paralyze trap with an area of effect ... just like the other area of effect traps ... That would be a a good trap to have in the pack (I currently carry no traps). Then you could use it as a bail out or to rescue someone.

Why don't you use traps? I use traps on every creature over a white con I engage. I did that even when FS was not around, so no, it's not for grinding purposes, it's for survival.

Adhesive mesh is great, as long as you don't shoot at the creature in it. That negates the adhesive part really quickly. As an escape trap this idea is not bad. As a method of ensnaring creatures, I will stick to P darts.

You do realize that currently our "Area of Effect" traps are semi-broke. The animals don't dizzy. Many are not blinded. The xp granted is gacked up too, you get one trap XP, regardless if you stun one or 100 - that's hosed.

I coulda used an AOE adhesive on those 3 rancors the other day... what a bad time for maskscent to break. Good idea generally, but probably won't work until we get the rest sorted out and fixed.

It should not be difficult to come up with interesting trap effects... how about a trap that would prevents creatures that are social towards the tarter from coming to it defence?
Though if we had to have a AoE version of a lower level trap I think the pram dart would be the most useful one.

I'd like some kind of corrosive that specifically lowers special protection resistances. There are things I can't touch since I only do kinetic damage. Or do we already have a trap that lowers resistances like that? If we do, I'd like to nominate myself as this week's official dumbass.

Glow wire drops melee and ranged resists. Stink bombs and glow juice do also, tho only one per.

I think those are defenses, not actually resists (i.e. a 100% kinetic resist mob still won't take any damage from kinetic attacks after a glow wire). And the stink bomb is state defenses; wire mesh is melee defense.

Because anything a trap works on I can just kill in 10 seconds or less with a mediocre T21
