Ok, I come upon an (AFK) player camped in a spawn spot, killing Meatlumps. Not looting, as they were 4 piled at his feet.

I treat all AFK people like NPCs. They are there to enhance the game, they can't bug you unless they are spammers, I do not tip them ever, and generally I treat them as if they were not there.

Entertainers - no tip, you are getting XP running a macro. That's tip enough. Maybe more XP if anyone actually listens to you.

Tumblers - /addignore, I max med xp on real people.

Spammers - I usually am not there long enough to be worried. /addignore works good tho

Fighters - I may camo them, I may steal kills, I may wander past, depends on my mood.

Campers - as in scouts camping and spamming for visitors. I find an aggro to drag into the camp so the toon shoots, and they lose all that nice xp. Yes, I can be a butthead.

Anyhow, I stand there and drop Lumps right and left. And looting, good loot too. Rats, I run out of stims and drop, but they don't DB me. About this time AFK boy comes back and whines I am in "his spot". I get up, reply that spots don't have names on them, and as he was AFK for the past hour... I move along so as not to listen to his whining. He is gonna "report" me. Fine, go for it.../addignore.

No clue how that came out, unless the CSRs laffed and Pepsi came out their noses ( I hate Pepsi, why I was not a good CSR) onto their keyboards.

I will continue to treat AFK buffons as NPCs. NPCs have no rights, nor do AFK'ers.

i don't understand why they don't do somthing about the afk bots. i have seen people standing in the same placefor a week or longer spamming somthing every few seconds and they just allow it.

i guess a server full of afk bots is better than a server with no one at all.

I've even seen someone with the guild tag <BOT> afk killing Moenia thugs on my server.

/sigh

The thing i don't get about AFK bots is this:

Someone will be AFK shouting for days and days in Coronet. Or they'll be there killing and looting NPCs, because using the /target corpse command, among other commands, you can autoloot things. (i've needed to use target corpse to loot invisible corpses in the past). These people can go for hours and/or days on end being AFK.

Occasionally, i'll go AFK while in a camp, or in a house somewhere to do take care of laundry, or run out for some Taco Bell or something, and when i come back, it logged me out of the game. I then must completely quit out of the game, and back to the window's desktop, then relaunch the launch pad in order to get back into the game.

is this because i wasn't running a recursive macro?

if that is the case, i'll write a macro that will /sit then wait a few seconds, then /stand.

Whenever i do go AFK, i make sure to put an informative away message letting people know that i stepped away from the computer for a bit, and i'll be back soon.

I went outside of kaadara found some plasma thieves that I wanted to loot but someone was already in the spot...I could tell he was AFK because there was one unlooted corpse at his feet...so I sat there for 10 minutes waiting for my buff to wear out and killed everything spawning around him....I hate AFK people...I have noever gone AFK except for maybe 10 minutes at the most to get something to eat..but I check back often...

That and your disdain for all things that breathe, right?

No, I think that is a pre-req. for being a CSR. That way you are not disillusioned.

If I ever go AFK and have to do something ingame, I'm usually at a camp somewhere out in the boonies with little chance of any player visitors and I run a /forage macro. Usually, I'm on the highest mountain peak I can find on a planet and have my harvest droid running a patrol through my camp.

If I have to AFK while in a town, I'll sit quietly in a corner somewhere or go to the starport and run my joke telling macro to entertain people who are waiting for their med buffs.

THAT has been fun and I get tons of compliments. I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery because I saw someone else doing it in the cantina last night on Coronet. Kinda irittated me that they couldn't do something original but whatever.

There's a AFK'er on Corbantis who "kills mosquitos with a bazooka" he stands in moenia right outside the starport and kills the meatlump wannabes, with a cannon... I swear the explosion alone creates so much lag. I'm trying to figure out a way to "take care" of the problem. I've stolen some of the kills occasionally, but that got boring cuz he didn't come back. Oh well.... cammo ftw...too bad I can't use it anymore...doh...

The thing I hate the most is that Tumblers seem to take priority to some doctors.

Here I am, requesting some medical service (and I tip pretty well for it too) and no one looks at me, cos they're huddled around a tumbler.

I can handle the spammers in C-net. Walk around Las Vegas... there's the RL equivalent handing out porno flyers. The AFK dancers... I never give 'em XP. I find the one dancer who will actually interact with me (and they get a big tip).

But those damn Tumblers. ARGH!

That's why I'll be in a camp more often than I'll go to the med-center. I can heal wounds with novice medic easily enough, it just takes a bit longer. But I'll always hit the cantina for a cold Jawa Beer and a dance with a purty woman.
