Rescue works fine. The problem is, that if the person you are trying to rescue is still doing damage/more damage than you are doing to it.... well, it won't work. It seems to work pretty well at getting the besties off the group medics. I use that, and a combination of a phen dart, and an adhesive mesh. creature slows down, medic runs, and i either blast it or scoot..... or blast it and scoot.

make sure that you are rescuing a player and not the creature! I made this mistake when I first used the skill.

Boiled down, it would appear that the rescuee needs to be "on board with the program" and quit antagonizing the beastie relative to how well the Ranger is antagonizing said beastie.
Thank you all for responding so quickly. I'm sure that all will now be blinding by the glow of RESCUE.

Actually, from my own experiences, the rescuee doesn't always have to stop fighting the beast. I'm saved several people on Dathomir using rescue-- people whose computers had crashed and they were stuck on auto attack. Having them peace INCREASES the likelihood that they would be rescued, but even when I was there, not attacking the creatures and /rescuing them, I was able to pull the aggro. Luckilypeople I saved were all meleers, so when I pulled them, they just stayed in place andthe crittersdidn't re-aggro them.

generally my "save the medic" act happens because they don't have any combat skill anyway..... what is it with things attacking the poor little medic.
i guess it really angers critters when they start to make a dent, then whoosh. full health.

I remember being a medic. Things REALLY like to eat the medic. Medic's don't taste good damnit, it's a filthy LIE!

Yes, docs and medics seem to have a +50 to agro hidden skillmod. It's almost as good as my +60 to agro when unmasked and +75 to break mask and agro when masked/camoed skillmod.

For the best results, the rescuee needs to /peace before you perform the rescue.

i find if the rescue doesn't work the first time, throw an warcry then intimidate and taut, then resuce then it tends to work toooooooo well
