Why complain? I am currently re-working towards MasterRanger and would gladly take the current trap grind twice as compared to the old Survival / Camp grind.

Also, on an unrelated note, which would be a better compliment with Ranger, CH ( for near total self-reliance) or Rifleman (for the conceal, range and damage)? Opinions would be appreciated.

Most of the complaints about trapping were about the broke system before pub 22 (I think). Trapping xp wasadded up as part of the overall xp for the fight (like how weapons, combat, and medical is divided up). The new system is much better and the trapping xp goes a lot faster if you trap within your trappin lvl.

My personal faveorite template is Master Ranger/ Master Bounty Hunter / Squad Leader 0300. I get a lot of special attacks, great Melee and Rangged Def, and If i don't want to huntI have a second jobI can do.

Thereal key to having fun with Ranger is to do what you want to do.

I have to say; as a medic I hate spies. Yes...yes I do. I RESPECT you...but I hate you.....I don't think you need nerfed, I don't think you're over powered...but I do think that you all should go to hell. ~ MusicMangina

I am really enjoying TKM/MRanger atm, sure I have to rely on Stim-Ds and food, spice etc to heal, but so far I am quite flexible, quite capable of surviving well, don't need any armor and having a blast

Just that most new folks never got to experience the survival grind, so they haven't anything to compare to. But still, I'd imagine the problem remains that people look at trapping as something to be grinded out, rather than used along with your skill as you progress in a more natural and less grinded manner. Suppose people are used to grinding out one tree at a time or something, but with Ranger ya gotta look at it all as one big tree to be taken along one box at a time.

I'd say if you can deal with the CH way of life, go for it. I hear it's interesting, at least, and you get to partake of an interesting world of pve. Although you'll never be able to pvp at all, it'd at least be somewhat of a unique mode of survival. I see plenty of riflemen, so I'd suggest CH just for stubborn learning's sake.

I agree. To really get to know Ranger youshould really play it more than grind it. It makes it easier tolearnthe tactics thatmay one day save you a trip to the cloner or let you solobig game.

I was really looking forward to doingthe camping for XP, I justcreated myranger toon too late.

My only wish is that scoutig & trapping XP were displayed and Ranger (not Scout) trapping XP caps out at the level that you need to get the level you are working on, not anyhigher. I've twice been pitching traps thinking I was gaining XP to discover that I was capped already.

Ranger is fun to grind, Critter Bits are fun to hoard!
