Admittedly I have just returned to Master Ranger status, I dropped it right before the token respec was announced. I noticed this evening that special attacks, base chance to-hit and the damage range was displaying along with the type of resources the creature could be harvested for. Is this new? I thought that after CU only harvesting info was displayed. Granted the special attacks are all in programming speak but I could figure out what they were. Only thing that seems missing is armor info.

Yep - the special attacks reappeared after the CH revamp. As I understand it, you have to have ranger skills to see them. I could be wrong about this, but I asked a CH without ranger skills if he could see the specials and he said no. Now, if only we could get them translated from machine-speak to human speak -- hell, I'd even settle for bothan speak!

In addition, I'd like to see resistances put back into the examine screen. It was fun trying to get everyone in the group to use the "right" tool for the task at hand!

My question is - do creatures even have resists anymore?
We can definitely see the special attacks but right now it is just a string of code, which could mean creature knowledge is still a bit broken or it could mean creature special attacks are broken.
I was hoping the special attack knowledge would tell me what kind of CH special I could learn from the creature but apparently the two are not linked. Ah well!

yep - that's a good question. It just occurred to me that creature abilities disappeared from our examine window post CU because creature abilities disapeared. I wonder if the same holds true for resists - are they gone do you think and that's why they don't show up?
I mean I'm wondering if our examine display is only coded to display information if the target in question can provide that information. Hence, no creature abilities until they were re-added and no resists because maybe there are no resists anymore. Defense is just a function of CL or something...

The resists have to still exist, because different types of damage to tend to do better than others and it isn't just based on the weapon being better. At least, that's what I'm hoping I see.

The resists are still there.
The specials ( not the CH abilities ) however, disappeared, most likely because the Devs decided it was too much work to balance all the different special attacks on different creatures of the same CL... and gone was yet another aspect that made being a Ranger on focused and creature-combat even remotely interesting.
And of course, the posibility of adding poison and other resists to creature attacks as effects on our /forage items went bye-bye as well
To round it of, the social AI of creaturs was dumped as well. Has anybody seen creatures fight each other after the CU?
