Thread: Creature Spawning or am I the only living thing on Talus

Hi,

is there any knowledge that can be passed on as to how creature spawning works? This all stems from my journey to Talus hunting for GSPs. Based on listening to advice in the CH forum I went from Dearic to Nashal. At first I went on a bike and stopped to area track (im actually 0030 in ranger) but every time I tried this I got the nothing doing response back. For some parts I got off and walked, but nothing at all on the scanners apart from the odd rasp. In the end I gave up with 2000 metres to go and just biked it. Once I neared the city there were the usual sparse creature population ringing it.

So anyone have any ideas as to why there were so few critters around, and things that encourage them to spawn?

Rori and Talus are the worst planets for finding wild spawns. I've seen the same thing happen when I'm out in the deserts on Tatooine but it's no way near as bad as Talus and Rori.

I think a while ago we got some news that the devs are doing work on the spawn system, but I haven't seen an actual announcement on it.

Dayum you must be cursed. We are on the same server. Go to Galdathorn on Talus. Head south out of town, angling towards the PA Hall and go to the east of it. There are usually GSPs all over the place out there. I know, my house is out there and I am tired of the large kitties using my porch as a sand box. Fact is, south of the little creek that runs through the town is usuall GSP heaven.

Failing that, go to the ghost town, it's a POI and there are always GSPs there.

Its not just you, this is happening on nearly every planet where players can build.

One theory is the GCW bases are crowding out the ability for random spawns to occur (like there is some kind of mob cap for the planet)

At anyrate it is true there are a LOT fewer place for lairs/camps to spawn than there used to be, and it seems like stuff never spawns near harvesters or houses anymore. (this time last year you coulld have a nest right outside your door, now you never see that)

I blame GCW bases. As the above poster mentioned.

And you could never be the only living thing on Talus. There are those two spawns of trophy drop creatures
