I'm trying to figure out what the best ranger template may be... I was thinking of going Master Combat Medic + Ranger 4044 but tyhen i realized that CM only works well with another combat profession... Any suggestions?

I'm Master Ranger, Master Riflemen and I think that works very well. Mind, I've only had that template a couple weeks so I'm still getting used to it.

I tried a Ranger/CM briefly during the three week respec on sunrunner. It was actually kind of cool as a support character. (I like playing necromancers in addition to thieves, and the ranger/cm is pretty much a traditional 'cursing' necromancer.) I dropped it, though, mainly because I rarely play on sunrunner and have few friends there (friends are all on naritus). The ranger/cm is pretty pathetic solo.

I suppose it depends on your definition of "best", ie for what purpose? If its for PvP then you should probably avoid Ranger entirely, as it adds little to any PvP template. If its for simply grinding away to do FS then any combat profession and Ranger would probably be effective. I am TKM/Ranger and enjoying it a lot but I don't pretend to think I do much damage and I would last 10s in a PvP duel I expect. BH/Ranger is very popular as it allows you to add in some medic abilities for healing. If you want to be the big game hunter then Rifleman/Ranger is apparently a very popular combination.

I was a Master Ranger/Master Pistoleer pre-CU, but I switched to Master Ranger/Master Rifleman about a month before the CU hit. I've always been a Ranged Ranger, never tried Melee (not my style, I guess).

I find that with the right tactics/traps/luck, I can solo almost any creature and a lot of the NPCs.

It seems that I solo a lot lately, since Intrepid seems dead. Maybe now that summer is over, everyone will be back inside and playing the game again.

I am curentlly a Master Ranger , Master Bounty Hunter the combo works well together they compliment each other.....very nice

How well is MR/MBH working for you? I have been MR/MR for quite some time now and thought about getting into the pvp side of things a bit. Hunt Jedi? Do well in pvp?

I'm a MR / MBH / SL 0300. The PvP is okay. Its great for hunting.

Hmm...I'm Master Swords/Ranger 4440 (need to start trapping) and a CL 72. This template works well for me. I use the remainder of my SP on force skills. I am still able to deal tons of damage, and camo seems to keep the creatures from going agro on me very often. They both use the same types of armor too, so that benefits me as well. I don't PVP though, so I'm not sure how that would hold up.

I'm using Master Ranger / Master Pistoleer and it's great. Between P Darts and Stopping Shot I rarely get hit in PvE combat. In fact, I swallow some Canapes and Blob Candy and move spam Avd Quick Draw without running out of action since I do not need to wear armor.
