Thread: Mask Scent / Camo based on CL?
I'm still a Master Scout so I have +100 mask scent and then an additional +17 from BE clothing (even more than I had as a Master Ranger). I found myself having to get into close proximity with these CL60-ish creatures which would appear as a grey-con to a CL80 but the darn things would still break mask scent 90% of the time.
So my conclusions are that either the patch note was a lie and mask scent / camo are still ineffective, or it is now based on the player's CL so they can guarantee that grey-cons will NEVER break mask scent / camo.
As far as I understand it, it is a combination of both. Camoflauge works, however your cl determines the size and "strength" of the aggro area, the higher you are in cl above a creature the less of a chance it has to break your camoflauge, and the lower you are in cl as compared to the creature the higher chance it has to break the camo.
I could be wrong but I would be suprised if I was. Hope this helps.
from what i have found with my crafter is the Mask scent/camo effective ness is determined by two things.
The first is the applyer's skill mod. If you have 117 (in your case) then it will be that +17 better.
The Second is your CL vs. the AI thats checking. So lets say you apply mask scent with your 117 mod and drive past a white con. you will have a much greater chance of passing undecteced then if you passing past a puple con.
Walk, do not run up to the creatures. Crawling is even better. Way less chances of camo/maskscent breaking.
