I made a post after the 19 questions about dropping Ranger, but Im going to stay with it. Why do you ask? Well it was a simple experence. I logged on yesterday on Talus at about6am game time, I was sitting in the grass and my camera angle was just below the top of the grass looking up. Then something happened that I have never experenced, I could hear the grass blowing in the breeze. So I sat there and watched the sun come up just myself and the grass.

After about 15 minutes, I needed to make the trek to the Imperial Outpost which is about 7km north of our city. I then did something that I havent done in a long while, a thing that some people have never done, I walked that 7000 meters. Yes I walked. It was wonderful. I took hide samples and found that the resource on leathery had shifted, I took a sidetrack to the mountains on the far west of Talus and found that they were snow covered, I hunted tourtons, killed rebels, made a camp so another player I met on the way could craft stims, I had fun, I was a Ranger.

I am not going to leave this profession, I love it too much.

I've gotta say, I completely understand. I also live on Talus and spend a lot of my time just wandering on foot. We have a little town, not even a shuttle yet. Most people drive the trip back and forth to Dearic Port, but I almost always walk. It's an absolutely beautiful planet, that every Ranger should appreciate. I've spent at least as much time hunting for fun on Talusas any of the so called 'Adventure Planets'.

The creatures can be challenging, but not life-threateningly dangerous for the most part. A lot are large and can be harvested well. Good for camps, traps or to be given to yet another fool grinding through a profession they have no interest in. Torturs are my absolute favorite thing to hunt in the entire galaxy! The ROAR and THUD as theydrop gets me everytime. If they ever get a good resource drop I'm gonna have a field day!!

Ah yes! Just me and Wooly (my harvest droid) wandering the plains of Talus. What could be better than that?

When we do guild hunts we always walk, between lairs, chatting as we go. Great fun

I just went to the western mountains of Talus and had a great time walking around in all the snow. Just wish I could leave some footprints or make a snow angel.

I am a ch and not a ranger but I know what you mean. You cant ride bikes while searching for rare pets and so its kinda just you, the wilderness and a trusty pet.

I dropped Ranger about a week ago. Completely deleted that character. After the 19 Questions I figured I had some time to explore other professions a bit. I only played a few days this week and I'm already missing Ranger. I've restarted my deleted character. Same name. Same look. I am working at getting back to Ranger. No exploits. No grinding. It is great taking missions for sevorrts and actually walking to the lair. I don't even have a choice since I have no speeder. I'm honestly considering not buying one once I have the money. A mount probably, not too sure about a speeder though.
