Hey gang, I jumped into the smuggler post about Fan Fest where I noticed Green Marine posting. In case some of you don't know he is the deve responcable for Ranger, scout, smuggler, chef, and maybe one or two more professions. He worked with scout and ranger way back in the fist few months, and help both those professions get where they are now.

Here is his reply to me regarding why he hasn't heard of the Outdoorsman proposal, and if would please go check it out, since we spend so much time on it. I told him I understand that he is working on smuggler and they do the revamp, but just to make sure he sees the Outdoorsman, before he comes back to ranger. Here is his reply, from a post in Smuggler. I"m sure it will show up on dev tracker if you want to look it up.

I've been working on space for several months and have been out of touch with the current live forum communities. My office is physically seperate from the live team, etc. This leads to a situation where I'm not entirely up to date with the various professions proposals. I will look up this proposal and read it very soon.

Very Encouraging. Though GM may not be able to do anything in the short term, at least its on record now that he will a least take a lot at it.

Well no don't expect anything in the short term. Between finishing and launching Jump to Light Speed, and then the smuggler revamp, I don't see rangers getting any "new" changes for a while. But I just wanted him to know what we have been working on and would like to see. Since the devs are thinking we are just sitting around complaigning, and not coming up with any ideas.

It's funny how some people are able to get through to actual developers around all the correspondent-TH obstacles built to prevent such things. Guess, fanfest made SOE defences slip a bit

I remember times when GreenMarine was reading forums and posting. Rarely, yes, but there was some dialog going.

I have a high respect to GM's work. I'm only afraid that with all his good intentions and ideas he will be again walled up in a separate office and rid of any means to contact the outside world. Until the next fanfest that is...

Not gonna stop me from keeping Master Ranger though. I'll keep it and continue to pay subscription just so that SOE is not able to remove the profession
