I was a Master Ranger for a while on Shadowfire. I gave it up. It became non-viable. I couldn't warrant using all those points for a super-hunter. I had felt outdoors doesn't always mean good hunter. I had been living in Alaska, and the folks that are Mountain Rangers up there did all sorts of things dealing with rescue and survival. So a Ranger can Hunt, and gets bonuses. But a real mountain man can make use of the stuff he hunts. Not only that, but tends to be completely self sufficient, except in a few staples.. namely bullets and a few one time purchase items like iron skillet, knife, axe, and good rifle. The Developers need to look at REAL Outdoorsmen.. and model the Ranger after that.. Most of the Alaskans that live out in the Bush could easily kill a human as they do animals, perhaps easier.. that too needs to transfer to the issues dealing with NPCs.. sorry, but a bear trap will work on a person as easily as a grizzley.

Devs don't even know what the Sun is much less the ideals of an Alaskan Mountain Man.
