Yep, so what do I trap for trapping skills 1-4 in ranger. I don't want to waste my time on something to easy or too difficult.

many folks seem to recommend dantooine - voritors and pikets... but i ended up going to dathomir and trapping baz nitches and kwis... it seemed to fly by... just pick something reasonably tough that you can kill if it gets hairy... you can see the CL, go with something between 25 and 45...

heck any planet, any creature. just buff/spice yourself like crazy and find a yellow con that doesn't group aggro. attack it, and fire glow-wire traps. These are actually "stackable" which means that more than one can hit and have an effect. set up a macro to throw them.

or, as I always put when i suspect someone of grinding: you could just play the game. When you hunt, use your traps. Do enough missions, kill enough creatures and you'll be amazed at how much trapping XP you have. You know, have FUN with the proffession, rather than powering through it.

Admittedly, I have NO idea if you're a grinder or not, so if not, tell me to slap some duct tape over my big yap(it'll REALLY hurt to take off...we Bothans are all hair) If you are, consider just playing the proffession. that, and check out the post labled "grinders, read this first" stickied at the top of our board.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

good advice phenix...

i completely forgot to mention that you get the same xp for trapping a creature that you do for harvesting... oddly enough, it takes as much trapping xp to advance a level as it does scouting xp to advance in either wayfaring or field bioscience... so basically, if you trap each creature you harvest just once, you will climb two of the trees simultaneously.... just make trapping part of hunting, and you'll have earned them at the same time...

Well I was lucky found a friend who is master comando, but grinding unarmed 4 so he can go tk. lets him charge into picket lair and stood back throwing traps, had lots of diffrent sorts in my toolbars 1 wild lair hey presto trapping 4.

I was throwing multiple traps at the same target.

I will add that for the lower levels of trapping (no effect on bigger creatures...) I ran round tatooien throwing traps at everything I could find.
