I don't know if any of you already do this or not, but here are some things I do to get through harvesting a little quicker. NONE of this involves AFK macros. I'm not sure how well this would work with ranged weapons. First I set hotkeys for /attackand /follow, and /stop following. I hit ta to target and hit the button that follows and starts attacking. Once the target is dead I use a hotkey to harvest. I keep all 3 harvest types in hotkeys to avoid time consumed by the radial menu. I rarely use anything but standard attacks. sometimes I'll use lunge to finish off something that's trying to get away when it's almost dead. I'll use area attacks to finish a target while simultaneosly softening up my next target. I'm not a master swordsman so I use some caution with what I attack. Also remember to use your traps to give you an advantage. Keeping a MOB blind and stunned and vulnerable to attacks helps a lot. Hope this helps.

The problem that I see with buffs and uber armor is that it creates a dependance.
I know people who are master combat professions who go out buffed and armored to the teeth to hunt kaadu.
I do wear armor (ubese unbuffed and composite when buffed)
The great thing is is that I can survive both styles of fighting quite well.
yesterday i was on tatooine and i was killing bantha for bone (gearing up for my camping xp trips) they arent a huge problem to me...
rely on auto attacks, only use a special when needed (applying bleeds, kd etc) and i dont spam the specials. Buffed i can take down some big nasty critters... unbuffed i can take them down with judicious use of stims, bleeds, etc.
Know your species' limitations and advantages, when im in really big trouble, i use /equilibrium, a zab ability that evenly distributes your ham. (once per hour)
I only buff up when grinding out weapon xp, or when im in a nasty dungeon.
both tactics are valid and helpful, however... i like being challenged in the game, and in my opinion, buffs for general hunting seem like entering a cheat code for a regular game ...

Even with full buffs I have to be careful with my specials. I avoid buffing for the most part but am usually always armored. As a swordsman, I need buffs to effectively hunt big game or powerful creatures in groups. Without buffing, hunting very powerfull creatures isin't worth the time it takes me, but is still fun if it's something I haven't seen before.

I'm really starting to hate buffs... Just two nights ago I had to convince a Master TK with whom I was going hunting that we probably didn't need them.... We were going to Talus.

I use harvest hotkeys too made out of macros. For example:
/harvest meat;
/loot all;
This way I don't forget any creature loot.
I have to be careful to watch my inventory when hunting faambas and voritors though.

Man i love Talus, our city is there, most underrated planet....errr......nevermind, there is nothing to hunt there. Move along.

Hey wait....I'm a master TK, I was on Talus the other day.....
Actually no, it wasn't me. I did however go to Talus to remember my old days(back when this crazy world came into being) and I had a blast attempting to take out the larger Torturs unbuffed. Even found some stuff I couldn't handle unbuffed. Course I was spamming specials. Oh I probably irritated my killing buddy to no end with my rambling about the old days on Talus, before buffs/speeders....oh there i go again, ok, i'm runnin. *wave*

And there we see why I nearly always hunt buffed (besides the fact that I use my alt to buff myself so buffs are insta-avaliable to me). Aim is to kill as fast as possible to raise the harvest/time, specials help a lot for this
.When I was still taking hunting contracts on things not located on endor, yavin or dathomir I did this different, sure (unbuffed). But I don't want to take down rancors with autoattack, my clients are interested in bigger amounts of ressources :-).

exactly... when hunting for big stacks of organics, im buffed/ armored quite nicely. I can take down big nasty critters quickly and efficiently. Im not in any way shape or form slamming buffs or armor.. theyre very useful
I guess my point was, that while buffs are nice and cut down time to kill... knowing tactics while unbuffed is essential as well.
2 different tactics for 2 different situatons

Interesting. Care to elaborate why? I usually am doc-buffed and chef food stacked (vasarian brandy and ahrisa) to negate all ham-cost, even in a full suit of heavy comp. I can spam as much specials as I want, why do you need to be careful with them?
