Hey guys, im a Master Ranger and i just thought i would share an idea with you all, i know some of you have been playing alot longer than i have and probably wont agree with me, but all constructive critisism is welcome

Ive been reading alot of posts about people wanting more harvesting ability, more use in PvP and even things like our very own weapons. I agree that Ranger should be alot more than it is but with us only having to Master 1 other profession, dont you think it would be overpowerd?

What i propose is some way to increase our skill point cost so that if we want to have Ranger Combat abilities we wont be able to Master Rifleman/TKM etc. My idea isnt very well built atm but if anyone thinks it has potential let me know, thanks.

Sorry max but to be a master ranger u need to send 150 skill points. The ownlly other tree that u need more points in that is combat based is bh with an extra tree. All other combat u dont need to be a master to get u just need one tree. For tk,sword, pike, rifle, pistol, and so on u just need one tree to get to what u want. I dont think we are over powered we are really really under powered for how many points it takes to get. camps, traps are useless, tracking is so so at that and harvesting u get jsut as much with scout and a driod or food. Most of us just want ranger to work. For the amount of points it takes to get we should have atleast some combat skill in there like bow, and we should beable to out harvest any other skill with food or driods. That is the prom for rangers right now

My thoughts on a working gcw/rank and fun factor in this game.......

Yeah, i was thinking more along the lines of after the Combat balance, i realise i wasnt clear. What i mean is, hopefully after the Combat Balance the elite combat professions that only need 1 tree prior, shouldnt be as good as say Commando or BH. Umm il try to explain it a different way, Bounty hunters hunt People, we hunt animals. the only difference apart from that is they need to master 1 profession but they also have to get 1 line in another, thats why they get combat abilities as well as being able to track there bounty. hope that makes what i mean clearer.

commando: more points than ranger
BH: more points than ranger
CM: more points than ranger

doc: equal points

for the bang per skill point buck... we rangers are outclassed.

Yeah ranger takes a hell of alot of investment for very little gain. You have to master a full novice profession in order to just attain novice which most classes dont have to.

We should be the masters of creature hunting and the skill point cost should reflect that. If we get some amazing power levels like very high above combat professions then ill leave it up to the devs to decide the requirements.

The way I think of it is this:

  • Master TKM - Master Rifle/pistol/carbine - Swordsman 3332 (pretty powerfull, I dont know what the current stacker is but anyway) 1 skill point left over

  • Master Ranger - Master R/P/C(or any melee)18 skill points left over

So even if we geteverything we want there is no way for us to be a leet stacker or overpowered profession. The main reason for this is our base novice profession is Scout. Scout does not add any real combat abilites (unlike Master Markman, the prereq for BH and Comando).

Your idea would only put us farther behind the curve while players are allowed to master multiple Elite Combat profession due to thier lower skill point cost. We SHOULD be a very powerfull class, behind BH Comando and SL. We are next in line skill point wise and have no real need for most of our skills right now as by just getting scout skills and spending point on combat professions a ranger is easily out harvested over time with combat stacked players.

I hope this is recieved as cunsturtive to your ideas, not trying to flame at all

Pistoleer, mastered one line in a novice profession, then a Master Profession.

Ranger, mastered an entire novice profession, then a Master Profession.

And which one lets me kill stuff ??

Hint, not Ranger.

More skill points for Ranger, what are you smoking?

Basically im on the fense on this topic. ATM i would say hell no, and yeah what JB said.

If we change into this creature combat monster we all want then im open to a slight sp increase to offset more power, but only if we get more power than we deserve now with our current sp reqs.
