So with some of the most recient patches we have gained the ability to hover our mouse over radar blips to con, identify, determine their vector (motion), and obtain a specific wp.
With the Ranger /areatrack I get identify, a general wp (Direction and distance).
So what am I missing about /areatrack or did everone in SWG just get bumped to better then Tracking IV skill status?

Well you can track out to 500m provided other players have loaded the mobs in to the world. You radar will not let you track that far out. So, you can always track players with in 500m. However, that is about it.

I'm still trying to figure this out. I can track things that I have "run over" by radar for 512m. Ahead of me I can see about 60m on the radar if I stop.
Is areatrack better at looking ahead where the server has not spawned yet, because I have not yet "run over" it?
I just tried it with a friend He went out 400m from me, I lost area track on him at ~370m, and I could not track the creatures that were standing under his feet.

The system has anomalies meaning the greatest skill comes in interpreting the data recieved and combining that with your own knowledge, as a Ranger, of the wildlife locally...
Or words to that effect
