Ok, gimme a moment to explain...
I've always been a scout and brawler. Eventually, i went the full hog and went Master Ranger & TKM. Then I got bored. I've dropped TKM in favour of mastering Rifleman. Now, i've also dropped part of Ranger as I was going to go Master Combat Medic. (yeah, its good for PVP) After dropping the camping tree to free up SP whilst getting med XP, I suddenly wasnt sure. No longer being master ranger, I've been locked in indecision ever since. There would be no question of dropping it if I could use a trap or two on NPCs and Players (queue the Combat Upgrade possibilites!!). One solution would be Master Scout Master Medic Combat Medic 0000 and Ranger 00something00 along with Master Rifleman.
Basically, i need a key to unlock my indecision. the above solution does mean I could poison mind on NPCs whilst still trapping PVE but the phrase Jack Of All Trades, Master Of None comes to mind. Would the poison be worth it when only being Novice Combat Medic 0000, and likewise, not being trapper and not having camo or tracking, would it be worth having any ranger at all?
I loved being master ranger, and i love the Ranger community too, But not having an advantage over NPCs or Players above rifleman. Please help, you can probably tell from what I've written that I dont have a clue.
I know that a players template is and should be his choice and decision, but I need help.
Thanks guys, I know you'll solve this for me! (even though you'll likely be bias

Thats an interesting combination...
The main problem i see with this, is while the scout traps are very useful, without ranger 0003 at least you wont be able to make traps stick on some of the higher mobs consistently. Yes, you will stick one most of the time, but probably not reliably enough.
combat medic would be nice to have to add an extra dot on the mind pool, making for a faster kill...
camps are pretty much useless, pretty, but not functional... camo is not that much better than mask scent, and you didnt really mention harvesting, so i dont think its that useful to you play style.
what i would say would be to try it out and find out the nuances... if you dont like it, you can always go back. However, with that said, that is probably one of the more unique templates ive seen.
let us know how it works.

Yeah, sorry, Harvesting is another major part of it. But being Master Scout and grouped (which I normally am with my Bro) Should still give some good bonuses to harvesting.
I guess, Like you said, I'm just gonna have to try it.
Thanks for your help

Hi my advice would be to go for ranger 0040 or as much of that tree as you can - this is where all of our harvesting and tracking mods are. Our most effective traps come from the scout trapping tree, and while the uber crawl stuff that comes from our exploration tree is nice to have with rifleman, it's not critical.
You might already know this, but /prone combined with /maskscent (or /conceal) is a lethal combination (at least for pve) with rifleman -- you get at least 3, if not more, free headshots before the NPC or creature even knows you're there.I've never really felt underpowered as a rifleman and master ranger -- I just go prone and spam headshot and harvest and loot. If the mob is particularly big, then I use conceal shot.
There are some mobs that have high resists to most rifleman damage types (NS elders, for example), so maybe the combat medic stuff would help on them, but I can't imagine that low-level skills would be that effective. Of course, I have no experience with combat medic whatsoever (well, I've been on the receiving end), and I'm not a big pvp'er, so take the above for what it's worth!
