Thread: Buffs and Composite- Not so much fun

Well, I was taking out rebs the other day with a friend. I was unnarmored an unbuffed. This friend, though he meant no arm, presented me with a composite suit and enough money for a buff. Being completely new to the concept, I head off to Dantooine to find a buffer.
I get buffed, and immediately run out to the wild to try it out. I started taking on the most ridiculous animals, things that should have destroyed me instantly. I have been working on my Pirate Skills in space lately, so I have been at Novice Rifleman for baout a month now. And here I am, taking out pikets. Armor or no, they should have squashed me like a pancake. But they didn't.
I decided I wasn;t having fun at all, so I decided to travel to Theed and hang out in the cantina. I get to the starship terminal, and gasp! Everyone is wearing pointy-beaked composite armor! And, another gasp!- everyone has it either red or black!
I, going for the ranger look, had painted it in a variety of earth-forest tones. I was the only one who had three different colors on my armor. When someone asked me why, I said I got it from different sources, and thus they were different colors. He told me I could paint them- wow!- apparently no one in the game knows anything about roleplaying.
Sadly, the money was wasted, as well as the armor. I have it on display in my guild hall, stillin a mishmesh of colors. And directlyabove it, I have a Lecapine Dart Trap which I named "Hey- we match!". Some peopel think it is a lame joke about how the different parts do not match, but only the clever players have realized it a subtle complaint about the non-unique state teh game is in concernign armor choice. Thankfully, the Combat Revamp is on it's way- but I have a feeling we will just end up with a new composite armor. I amkeepingmy fingers crossed...

Back on topic - I have only recently started wearing armor as I needed to drop some evil NPCs to get a part for my recycler. Once I got the part, I put the armor back in the bank. I was wearing Ubese the other day - no helmet because I don't own one - and a guildie stated she had never seen me in armor. Again, I was on my way to the Phase 4 village to trade in points.
Armor is for those too stupid to do without. Or melee people.

My Wookiee never uses buffs or armor either. He's also a novice rifleman with some CH skills. He takes a sip of brandy before he goes out, but that's it. He uses some bio-clothes (shoulder padding with bonus to Camo and Mask Scent). Like many others, he keeps a shot of neutron pixie in his toolbar for emergencies. And there's always burst run if it gets hairy. With all these tools at his disposal, buffs and armor are simply not needed.

Ya why does the "best" armor in the game have to be the ugliest armor in the game? Look at some comp really clost and compare it to say Bone or Ubese. The art is totaly half assed. At least compared to the ohther armors.
You can see a simalar thing with Dark Troopers vs. Normal STs. Normal STs look like they got nit picked over for a month by Lucas Ars. Darks Troopers look like some intern swiped the model from some other game when no one was looking. And they've got chicken legs. Giant evil ducks. AT-ST + ST = Dark Trooper? Hmmm
Do /examine and make the window really Big.
