Thread: Milking is udderly frustrating...
Thank you so much for your reply. Perhaps I can now ask some more specific questions: Do rangers or scouts get a bonus to milking in a full group as they do with meat/hide/bone? Does the quantity of milk harvested increase with more than one ranger in the group? Since creatures can only be milked once is this even a viable solution as only one of the group party can milk each creature before it is dry of milk? (in other words would you get more as a *group* milking away from one another?![]()
These are the fine points I was wondering if anyone had tested, reported on. If not then I shall get a group together soon and do so! For the betterment of all Rangers ![]()
Thanks,
Avam
a novice scout will get as much as a master ranger.
(im pretty sure about this one, but i could be wrong, its been a long time)
you should however ask calc about milking nightsisters...
No real silver bullet here. It is time consuming for sure, and can be frustrating. Here are some tips not covered in the FAQ Ken posted.
1)Head to a high traffic grinding area. On Ahazi, outside of the Mining Outpost on Dantooine is best for this, but any area with large numbers of groups grinding should work. I can generally find huge missions of Pikets or Bols at level 82 about 1km from the MO. You can often milk 10-20 creatures at the same mission. This will cut down on your travel time. If you can find twosuch lairsyou can go back and forth between them, and milk to your hearts content.
2)You can do all sorts of other tasks while milking, most notably crafting. This is of moderate usefulness, unles you're grinding a crafting prof, or turning out traps by hand, but still worth noting.
3)You can also search lairs, and stack milk while waiting through the "you continue milking the creature" messages, make it a point to do these at least once per lair while milking one of the creatues.
All in all, it's not easy, but with dedication, and a good handle of how far you can be from a creature, and good timing, I've gotten close to 40K milk in an hour, as milk often sells for 40cpu, that's not bad money to be made with the only necessary skill being Scout 2XXX or a camo kit.
Ewwww... thats just.... wrong...
Meaning the bit about rangers getting no bonuses. Not the two posts that slipped in before this one ![]()

Does the quantity of milk harvested increase with more than one ranger in the group? Nope, same as above.

Milking away from each other is the way to go, but if thelair/mission is refreshed (meaning drive 500m away and try again) you can usually milk the same creature indefinately, so some coordinated group of 8 CL80 rangers cycling through missions in turn would probably get some serious stacks of milk.
Thanks,
Avam

Would someone knowledgable about the in's and out's of gathering milk in a timely fashionplease post here and share their knowledge on the subject? Getting under 200 milk per creature can be very time consuming and frustrating. I've skimmed over the FAQs but nothing really jumped out at me.
Thank you in advance,
Avam.
well, for the most partI Macro'd shelfish and molusks. Fishing is only, 25% macroed. Milking is just a pain that you have to deal with.I milk critters whenI'm near a good spawn orI have an order from a client.
