I don't know...

When I go out to hunt I use a rifle, not an automatic weapon. Whats up with carbines?

How about requiring RANGED SUPPORT from marksmen and added GENERAL ranged accuracy and GENERAL ranged speed mods?

You have to remember, Ranger will no longer be the creature hunter (Master Scout will be Ranger as we know it).

The re-envisioned Ranger will be a spec-forces type operator (where a carbine may be preferred for the close in aspect of intel-gathering and ambushes). I still think I'm going to try Ranger/Rifleman for a bit to see if its doable. If we get carbine-specials/mods, I may consider switching to Carbineer.

I was a pre-cu ranger, and i loved it, harvesting creatures, charging people to find rare creatures, camping in those huge bases withfriends, and throwing all those traps made ranger one of my favorite professions. I know after CU ranger has really gotten the shaft, still requiring all those SP and not adding any acc or def, but i hope that the new ranger will be as enjoyable as the old, if not it is a loss for futurerangers galaxy wide.

I just hope they add carbine specials so we can use them with any weapon...only good thing with cu...

If they add +carb accuracy or whatever then it won't benefit me at all. I've always hated carbines since release..

Far as charging people to rare creatures...I guess they are removing track from the game completely. Never really was real useful to me anyways. Once in a while I'd track people in pvp..or track a mob/npc for a quest...but I could have done it without track.

When is this publish coming out anyways?

No the new nerf ranger will be a Guild Wars ranger clone.

Here is some news for you all and the SOE Devs that only know of Rangers from the movies.

Small compact weapons are so you can sling them on your back and have your hands free while still having quit access to it.

Smaller is NOT better.

As a retired US Army soldier and prior Ranger. I served in both jungle and conventional envoroments.

In the jungle I carried a 12 gauge pump and a knife and tomahawk. In open warfare I carried a sub-machinegun, except for night ops where I carried my shotgun.

These small weapons were for self-protection only. If assaults were needed, call in the Marines.

Here I use 2 handed sword. Even after the CU nerf, they still defend me. Most of the time I glide by unoticed, thats the way it should be.

Someday when I feel like it I may tell you how a Victor Charle almost stepped on my hand while I was laying on the gorund waiting for his patrol to pass me.
