Thread: PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: We have no idea when the changes will go live...
Guys,
This is popping up on every thread.
So here's a sticky.
We have no idea when the changes will go live - some are in testing on Test Center, others are still in development.
The earliest we could get the Test Center changes is sometime next week. But that's being extremely optimistic.
I hope this clears things up.

How about : "Will these updates be with the Next Publish, or will they go live 'when they are done' ?"

Gustavef,
I honestly don't know. I don't want to put words in the devs mouths - but some of the changes are on TC now, others are still being worked on. We could see them soon, or until the next publish. We just don't know.
Guys, I know this is like being a starving man shown a feast but not being able to touch it - but we need to be patient. It's coming. But based on the posts here, we seem to value a change that works correctly, than a change that's quick but bug ridden.
Give the QA guys time to test the changes out.

Changeson the TC right now will be included in the next BigPatch(tm). This includes:
- /conceal
- Camo kits (one for each planet. They require hide/bone/meat and a flora resource from the actual planet you are crafting the kit for)
- /areatrack
- At novice this skill will only show a listing of pre-existing animal mobs currently ina certain radius
- As one climbs the Tracking skill new information is available.
- At Master Ranger thearea covers is much larger, general distance and direction is given. It will allow tracking of pre-existing mobs and players in a certain radius.
- Crafting camps and traps now gives Survival XP
- Increasing XP requirements in Wayfaring, Tracking (bio-science), and Trapping
- Decreased XP requirements for Frontiering
Changes not on the TC right now, in other words "still in development", could be in the BigPatch after next or longer. This icludes:
- /Track
- Allows a ranger to track any animal on a given planet. Once a target is chosen, a waypoint, or series of waypoints (still in-dev, don't qoute me on it)will lead you to thespecific lair.
- This can and will fail, leading you on a wild goose chase for nothing, or even leading you to your doom.

- Effectively this allows a ranger to spawn a given creature, where /areatrack only deals with existing spawns.
- New Traps
- While the XP changes will be going in to effect with the next BigPatch, new traps like the trip wire are still in development and will be a while.
- New Camps
- Again while the XP changes will be going into effect no new camps are being introduced. FYI, hunting blinds will be the last thing added due the complexity of new art assets and code.
Chunky, that'd be a lot more interesting than a wookie in a cage. ![]()
Now a wookie with a little hat and a grinder organ, hmmmm....

are there quite a few rangers on the TC?
hope they are trying to break all the new toysso when it goes live we have very few problems ![]()
Rogue,
I've met two players with Ranger, one master and one working on it.
I've met a few scouts, and I started trying to level my new character, but I'm really waiting for the correspondent terminals to go live.

Just to be sure, the change in XP requirements only applies for skills you've not yet trained in, and not for skills you've already trained? If so, I'll avoid training in frontiering, and get trained in the other skills ASAP. ![]()
Sb,
If you've got the box done, train it. If you've trained it, you're safe.
If you are still working on it - say you are 30k into Wayfaring 4...you'll need to get the extra XP when it rolls over.
No one is going to lose their titles!
