Thread: Ranger ability: Creature Imitation?
A thought occurred to me regarding Ranger abilities and what differentiates them from Scouts.
What if Rangers had the ability to mimic a creatures' natural noises? Grunts, howls, calls etc. The application of this ability could vary from separating an individual creature from its' pack to distraction away from the Ranger and/or his group to even attracting an entire pack to the Rangers area to assist in his concealment.
It could be a part of the Frontiering line since there isn't much there presently barring some bonuses and a couple improved camps.
It's a very rough idea that I haven't thought completely through but I wondered what you all thought.

Great idea, but even though the new Tracking line is pretty full, I feel it fits in there better than in Frontiering.
I would like it if this worked by targeting a creature to be effected and useing either /attract or /avert call command. It would be nice tobe able tocall that baby Dragonet away from its momma so I can tame it.
On the flip-side, a critical failure could aggro the baby or even the mother, hell, the whole nest!
Agreed.
I was alsothinking that it should be a targetable skill rather than AoE type and if so it could still work on an entire pack if you happened to target and successfully use it on the pack leader. To my knowledge there's no way to ascertain the leader of the pack so it could be a small percentage chance based off of the skills' use.
Stealth,
That's hilarious.
And don't Jedis learn creature imitation? Obi-Wan and the Krayt scream, and all that.
