Yes, it is a /bug issue that the Devs are aware of...

Question is why has it not been addressed yet?? No one can answer the question to that..

None of the camps from lowest to highest provide ANY TYPE of protection right now....

- I have seen the low level Ranger camp repel aggressives before, many a month ago.

- The higher level camps (FB and HTFB) seem to always have hadan issue with repelling anything.

- I believe the repulsion is based on the Creature Level / Ferocity of the critter, such that those annoying minor critters (Spineflags, Hermit Spiders, etc) will ignore you while in camp.

- However, the larger more aggressive creatures will ignore the camp and go for the kill.

- This is all presuming that it did work as intended (which I have yet to see).

- I believe it is Wanderhome, might I suggest adjusting you sig?

- You also have the option to display your Galaxy in the left hand column (under your name).

- Go to theMy Profile options for that ability.

Yeah, I was out Krayt hunting with a group. After a victory I set a camp to re-group and heal, well, one spawned about 30 meters from the camp. Amazing, the thing stuck its head right under the camp and incapped 2 of us and DB on one. I managed to move out of the way and disband while the thing was thrashing the sight. I dont know if any kind of protection would have helped much in this case though, it was very funny!
