Thread: A million clicks and 100K later I am Master Ranger!
Yay!
A couple of days ago I got Master Ranger.
With the latest additions of the big patch, enabling us to craft our way through Survival XP, I must admit it suddenly became a whole lot faster and easier to get to the top.
I had made some quick calculations pre-patch on how long it was going to take sitting on my ass, watching my eyes blink, so the camp-crafting was a godsend.
To all you people out there wondering whether it actually is worth crafting through Survival XP I have just one thing to say:
Go for it!
It took me approximately 5 hours straight to gather the hides / bones (by shopping all over the galaxy) and clicking furiously to accumulate the ca. 80.000 XP needed. It costs me a good 100.000K to buy all the materials needed, but it was worth it because I NEVER EVER HAVE TO CRAFT A CAMP
Carpal Tunnel symptoms anyone??
I got Master Ranger yesterday - finally.
The scariest part was by far Survival XP.
For those of you wondering whether it's worth it to craft your way through the Survival XP branch, heres my take:
It does - go for it!
I needed 80.000 Surv xp to complete my "Camp branch" and it took about 5 hours in total. This included Planet hopping to buy up all the needed ressources and the incessant 4 hours or so clicking like a maniac.
With 3 simultanous craft-tools going, you can make approx.3 camps a minute.
Since I needed a bit of level 3 and the entire level 4, I focused on Base Kits which yielded like ...178xp ??
(I hope my math and memory serves me right here - its in that ballpark anywho).
My advice is, figure out how many camps you need to build to complete the level, buy all the ressources needed (or farm the yourself if you have the patience). Then sit down in a low-lag spot, erect a camp to get the Surv xp from that as welland start clicking.
Disable and re-erect a camp every 15 minutes and just click - click - click in practice mode. Remember to keep a small stock of camps up to replenish the ones you disable and simply grind your way through it.
All in all, it was a chore, but I got through it much much faster than just sitting in a freaking camp watching my eyes blink.
Its not pretty - nor is it funny - but compared to the other approaches out there (camping at a static spot witha lot of possible traffic, macroing, having friends sample in your camp, fishing - whatever) its the surest and fastest way to rack up the points needed and get it over with IMHO.
It got me there, at least ![]()
Yay!
Errr...what the heck was up with all those posts...
My apologies..Dunno why it did that..Bleh!
I think I'm still twitching from crafting camps..
*moans* Must...click...something...
