Thread: Ranger PvP Conseal?
Does the Camo work for PvP. if not why not? they can very easily make your guy just turn the color of the terrain in the area and or not show on radar. Can anyone let me know if any of this is already active. When i put camo on i wanna be able to walk not say right next to but not to far from say a Rebel PC and have them not be able to tell i am there. say unless they put their mouse cursor on ya or something just a visual effect would be nice. Radar effect is needed for PvP also i plan to go Master Ranger/ Master Rifleman. The point was add camo use track player and hunt rebels on the battlefeilds. Now i see that it was a waiste of time and points as for it dont benifit you in PvP. Anyone got any input on this?

"Does the Camo work for PvP. if not why not? they can very easily make your guy just turn the color of the terrain in the area and or not show on radar."
- This has been brought up in a previous thread.
- The primary issue with "not showing on radar" is that the client still has the information available (so you can see the character if you turn and face in his direction).
- With this information, a resourceful person could "adjust" the radar code in the client to display that information, whether you are camoflauged or not.
- Its a nice concept, but I suspect it will take quite awhile for the developers to work out a PvP design that satisfies everyone.
- But in the meantime, as the PvE creatures don't necessarily "bend" the rules, the developers were able to implement that side of /conceal with less effort. ![]()
- I would suggest reallocating your skill points to other areas for the moment. One day the /conceal skill may be more to your liking, and then you can pick up the skill set again. ![]()
Ok, I had the wierdest thing happen to me last night and this post seems to be the place to put it. I hit my macro for conceal (/conceal followed by /maskscent in case I don't have a kit in my bad) and I went Invisible. I couldn't see my character, my buddy couldn't see my character, I could attack and kill things and not reveal myself (though the creature I was attacking would eventually run me down like always). When my /conceal wore off, I reappeared to everyone. I'm pretty sure it was a bug, but a nifty one. I had some trouble moving around though. I kept running into stuff because I use 3rd person POV.
hehe, or maybe I used a jedi mind trick on MYSELF!!!
"Naturally, this would require actual invisibility."
- Exactly. Pure stealth is a slightly different idea than the /conceal skill.
- However... True invisibility is a possible additionat say the Master Ranger level (oh that would be a skill to have indeed
).
- The inclusion of such a skill would broaden our skills to be more spyish, and push us beyond the Nature Hugger paradigm we currently reside in.
- That doesmake sense though, considering Bothans receive camo bonus, and they are considered natural born spies in Star Wars lore. ![]()
