Thread: want to buy NPC running shoes
please. i'm a wayfarer on starsider, and i'd like to know where i can get a pair of those great running shoes that NPC's have. you know the ones that let them catch up to me in 15seconds from 60meters away? while i'm running in the opposite direction?
seriously, what is the point of having +95 terrain negotiation if every single NPC in the game is faster than us? this is absolute HELL as a rifleman, since they all drop me in 1 hit anyway. Now, I can understand not wnating people to kite, that's fine. But for crissakes,a wayfarer (which may as well be a master ranger from a terrain negotiation standpoint) should be faster than at least most NPCs.
oh wait, i remember what terrain negotiation is for, it's so i can crawl faster. thanks soe! (/sarcasm)
Careful which NPCs you play with.
Sometimes there is server lag and they will jump but generally I see them running / sprinting just like me.
Many NPCs on Tat die fast when I work my pistol.
Others are hard to kill. Just because they're ALL blue cons doesn't mean I can take 'em all. Oops
Then again the NPCs on Dathomir are not jokers in the slightest bit. One shot one kill, many of them.

ypiana, you are missing my point. my point is recognizing that some npc's are brutal, but even a master ranger cannot outrun them. ever notice you running in the opposite direction, and the red dots catch up with you in a matter of seconds? sure, if they just agg while you are running by, you can sometimes get away when they give up chasing you. but they usually get a hit on me before they do give up. good thing i unequip my rifle or i'd be dead alot more ^_^
just for fun, go to coronet. outside the city there are swooper leaders (assuming you haven't been killing all the desert demons you see, you should have 0 or lower swoop faction) who will aggro you at 62m away even if you are /sneak-ing. whatever. the point is, get aggro from 60m away then run in the opposite direction. i 100% guarantee you that unless you kill them first or /burstrun, they will catch up to you in a matter of seconds. and these guys are pretty wimpy too. so, low level npc's are faster than us, high level npc's are faster than us.
here's another way that it's annoying. we can't keep up with them if we are chasing them! i do alot of fighting at the rebel/imp npc battle ground on corellia, and alot of times when i'm blasting a stormtrooper, a rebel melee npc will run up to it and start bashing it. then, the stormtrooper, who won't switch to melee here, runs away and tries to kite the rebel npc. running in the same direction as them, they both pull away from me within seconds. so, if i want my xp i have to burstrun to catch up.
this is senseless! npc's should not be this much faster than us accross the board!!
