Thread: Master Ranger now hunting Gorgs
Why? Because Banthas give half the herbivore meat they used to.
Toughest Bantha: Bantha Matriarch- To solo one it takes at least one glowire and five phecnacine darts. That's10 hide, 7 bone, 3 metal for the 5 phecnacines, and about 1 bone, 2 hide, and .6 organic for the glowire.
Bantha Matriarch: Fat and Healthy yield 36 units of Herbivore meat. Takes about two minutes to kill at considerable risk.
Now, look at Gorgs. Same quality herbivore meat, take one fan shot from my FWG5 to kill. One shot, one kill, 9 units of herbivore meat.
Four shots equals 36 units of Gorg Herbivore meat. That's 36 units in less than 5 seconds when attacking gorgs, or 36 units in two minutes with a lot of trapping and trickshots and running to get Bantha meat.
Wow, I am so glad that my harvests were cut in half, I'm really proud to get all that creature harvesting bonuses to I can kill gorgs.

I have given up my Ranger points for a lot of the same reasons . Don't miss them one bit .
What I find amusing , is killing some bloodthirsty stone cold killer bug on Endor , harvesting like 20 units of utter TRASH insect meat , then going to tatooine and step on a Kreetle and get 6 units of the very best insect meat in the galaxy . Makes perfect sense doesn't it ? But I'm sure it will all be worked out ...

You are right Ypiana, the gorgs have the same meat and you can harvest them way faster.... But is soo much fun killing them huh
Unfortunately, you're right.
It is far more efficient to hunt down, the more numerous, one shot gorgs than it is to track a bantha herd.
I can milk a gorg warren for about 150 units of meat in under five minutes, then move to the next warren, rinse and repeat ad nausium.
And just like Pyumeh said, it's fun to hunt Gorgs. Sometimes, like every once per lair, you get a Gorg GLUTTON! Now that's a serious animal to hunt.

How come I can find skinny gorg gluttons?!
Could someone answer me that?! 
You know how hard it is to get fat in the desert, let alone become a glutton?
All I can say is that be careful - the Glutton has a serious intimidation affect / knockdown.
