I have tracking 4 in ranger and was pumped to go on my first kyrat dragon hunt as of 2 days ago. I loaded my rifle popped on my speeder and headed out. My first track found a spawn and I was pumped. This spawn was near mos kyrat a city on my server. The next day me and 2 friends got up at the server restart and my first track I found 2 more kyrats near mos kiyrat but it turns out they were being powned by a jedi. I searched for maybe an hour after all over the graveyard and didnt see a kyrat. Then later in the afternoon I got on and looked for maybe an hour and was unsecsesfull. I got on this morning and searched for an hour and yet again I didnt see 1 dragon. I also noticed that I would get off my bike, do a search get on ride 200 meters and see an animal that didnt show up on my search.I am getting kinda frustrated and would rly like some help on what im doing wrong and any tips you might have. I am a master riflemen along with ranger. 2 things I think may be responsible for me not finding any kyrats are, noene has been through the spawn so they dont show up on my tracking and I didnt give the world enough time to load after I got off my bike. Plz help me out here.

Using /areatrack to find krayts is all luck. areatrack doesnt spawn them. They have to have been spawned before you can see it. Which is the reason you tracked then walked 200m and found something not on the list. This is one of the many gripes of Ranger. Tracking is useful for finding whats there. But, if it hasnt spawned you wont see it.

You got very very lucky to find that many krayts spawned the first few times. I have never tracked a krayt. Ever.

wow what a drag that is I searched for another hour too and didnt find a kyrat. probobly would have searched for longer but a tusken bantha ran me down and then dbed me. Now I know what youre thinking tusken banthas dont db, well I wouldve agreed with you because it said they didnt db when I examined thebantha so I guese ranger is even more useless than I though.

I am having a pretty good success rate in finding Krayts so maybe my methodology will help you, too.

I shuttle into Mos Entha and then shuttle into Mos Oasis.

Stay off your bike between Mos Oasis and the wrecked Sand Crawler.... use /areatrack every 200. I know it seems slow, but remember, this procedure has a good chance of literally walking up the behind of a krayt.

From the Sand Crawler, go east 200 meters and /areatrack. If nothing, go back to the Sand Crawler

Now go West, South, etc 200 and use /areatrack.

If you have nothing: no giants, no canyons and no juveniles.. start walking - NOT RIDING- in the direction of the Krayt graveyard.

Do an /areatrack every 200. According to my logs, I have usually found/spotted 3 krayts by this time. Yes, I am **edit** retentive and keep notes on all this stuff. Some people keep track of their baseball teams/scores, I keep track of Krayts.

One unusual activity that I've seen krayts do is break off an attack against a player and go after a Dragonet. This happens in the wide open sandy area from the Sand Crawler to the mouth of the Graveyard. I don't know if SWG has someone right then manipulating the Krayt or is this is a script written in the "if, Then" protocol, but it does happen. When I soloed Krayts last month I had 2 of them run over to a dragonet and kill it and then come back to me. Very strange.

When you get to the mouth of the Krayt Graveyard, don't walk up the very bottom of the canyon. Get over onto the righthand hillside, about 100 meters up and walk in using /areatrack every 100 meters. More Krayts spawn up on the hillside than in the bottom where all the bones are. Yes, I too have used Track and missed a dragon not on the list only to end up under its tail when it spawned. Be sure to mask your scent so all the other little animals don't come over and try to taste you.

From the second when a Krayt disappears after its kill, count 30 seconds and move your position to 150 meters away from where you were standing when that Krayt disappeared. There is a "timer" on the spawns in different locations. Spawns can happen 20 seconds after a Krayt death up to 3 minutes after the disappearance. I've camped and waited around for 3 hours watching and timing the Krayts spawns and kills to get the formula together on this for different locations. Spawns happen faster and more often out in the big sandy area and slower and fewer in the graveyard. I've seen 3 Krayts spawn on top of the previous carcass and seen an hour go by before another spawn started. Waste of time? Nope. Not when people realize you know what you are doing and experience your success rate.

Yesterday I guided in 4 other players to 6 krayts between the Sand Crawler to the 450 meter point inside the Graveyard. I've been using this methodology since April when I put 2 and 2 together and my lightbulb came on. Spawning has no co-feature of how many people are in a group or the level of profession of the player. I dragged a dancer with me one day and had her walk the whole way between the Sand Crawler and the very back of the graveyard and 5 spawns scared the living daylights out of her. I've followed a TKM on that route and he didn't get any spawns. There is no coorelation between the professions and spawns.

I am not in going after Krayts for the pearls, tissues, meat or hide. Other people are after Krayts for those exact items. It's just the entertainment value or excitement that people find in the game. It's like Mount Everest is there, so people go climb it. Krayts are there so I go find them.

You need to pause for atleast 5-10 sec after dimounting in order for the spawns around you to appear. No use in; dismount-track-mount without the pause.

Was on a Krayt hunt this afternoon, we killed 7 in total andeven though I was tracking every 30 seconds I still did not 'find' any of them.

I had one spawn right on top of me. Instant death and not for the Krayt.

sorry about the useless ranger comment guys. My bad. I guese I was just a little frustrated. I rly like ranger and I think I will master. The whole lifestyle rly apeals to me. Its just that my alt is a ch and its rly easy to get frustrated about that prof.I guese I wasjust subconchisly venting about ch without saying it. lol as weird as that sounds, I think I just figured that out while sitting by my comp. sorry if I offended anyone and thanks so much for the tips on kyrats hunting.

Lol no need to apologize. I don't think there is a ranger out there who has not felt utterly useless when it comes to tracking on some point, even Calc himself =P. Its the getting up the next time and trying again that counts, and thats what your doing. G'luck out there =).
